Why Early Access?

Early Access gives us the opportunity to work alongside our community to help us make necessary improvements through feedback and bug tracking. More importantly, it allows us to build a lasting and meaningful relationship with those interested in Cepheus Protocol and its developers.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“You can use the newly revised base building systems, train and recruit fighters based on your preferences, and customize their weapon as you progress. Players can build anywhere they want across four large maps featured in Pandemic Mode while deploying six combat classes and vehicles, including land and air. Each class can be leveled up to five, which improves their health and accuracy as they become more accustomed to the battle they must fight.

Your primary goal will be to track down Patient Zero and stop her before she spreads the virus beyond containment, all the while you are hunted by those infected by the Pangu Virus, all of whom have turned into monstrous creatures. With each passing day, new infected types begin to populate the map, as Patient Zero gains control of more regions and her numbers grow. These special infected are more ruthless, powerful, and determined to crush your defense if you don’t act quickly.

With XP earned by defeating the infected, players can spec into one of three doctrines, which provide additional firepower, vehicles, and defense options.

With replayability and challenging gameplay at its core, players must be mindful of the environment and the battlefield's changing nature.

You will have to use all the tools in your arsenal to research the virus and seek out Patient Zero, whose mastery over the virus grows with each victim she infects. Stopping her is paramount, or a city of millions could be lost.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The final version will include a more refined Pandemic Mode, a large open world, combat doctrines, new enemy types, a polished game featuring enhanced textures, particles and weather effects, Co-op, and factions. We also continue to work on optimizing CP to ensure the game runs smoothly on as many PCs as possible.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

Yes. The game currently features Pandemic Mode, but the final product will feature an extensive campaign, co-op, a horde mode, and multiplayer. The final price is not fixed yet, but it will increase to better represent the amount of new content the game will have. However, for those who already bought the game during its early access, it will be updated for free.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

Our goal is to be out of Early Access by Q4 of 2024. We are currently finishing Pandemic Mode and all the primary features, systems, and mechanics the game offers. When that is done by Q2 2023, we will focus all our energy on the campaign, co-op, and multiplayer.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

Currently, we have a Discord channel for our community, where they are free to give their thoughts, insights, and opinions about Cepheus Protocol. The developers are actively involved with our Discord community, where we have monthly open-house meetings and not to mention our frequent weekly updates and announcements about every change made to the game.
