Here at Tripwire Interactive, it has been our goal from the outset that Killing Floor 2 can be played and shared with as many players across the globe. To further that goal, I am happy to announce today in working with our partners at Epic Games that Killing Floor 2 will be launching today on the Epic Games Store and will be available to all EGS users to keep for free until July 16th. To ensure that all PC players can play together in the same ecosystem, we have worked hard to incorporate Epic Online Services into our networking framework so cross-play and cross friend invites can be supported for all PC platforms. We’ve also partnered with Vivox to incorporate their platform-agnostic VOIP solution to ensure everyone can coordinate and talk together.

To the uninitiated with the world of Killing Floor 2, it is a Co-Op Survival shooter in which you are charged with being the last hope for humanity when an evil biotech corporation’s monstrous experiments are unleashed on an unprepared continental Europe. Fend off the unstoppable hordes with ten different perk types and well over a hundred unique weapons from military hardware pulled off the gun range, survivalist experiments that make even the most harden doomsday prepper blush, and futuristic sci-fi armaments that can annihilate the opposition using all the elements of the periodic table.

Killing Floor 2 has received over 5 years of continuous support from when it initially launched to become the robust package it is today including dozens of maps, multiple game modes, playable characters, a plethora of weaponry, seasonal events, enemies, bosses, and literal thousands of cosmetic customization options. We’re far from done as we look to continue to support this game with new regular content drops and we believe that today’s EGS launch will help ensure continued engagement with the title and community into the future.

As a celebration of our launch, we’ll be giving everyone access to the “DAR Classic Armor” set who login into the game.
