Apex Legends Season 23: From the Rift turns back the clock

Apex Legends Season 23: From the Rift is finally here, and it brings an exciting suite of changes and features to your favorite battle royale shooter. From the new throwback limited-time mode Launch Royale to the exciting winner-take-all Rift Relics, From the Rift is set to be an action-packed season. We've detailed the update’s highlights below.

New limited-time mode: Launch Royale

Season 23's LTM, Launch Royale, takes us back to the start, restoring the base battle royale experience that first made waves in 2019. It features all the vintage Apex details you’d expect, including all the day-one Legends and weapons, as well as the OG version of Kings Canyon that's laser-etched into your brain.

Whether you were around for Apex Legends' 2019 launch and want to experience a nostalgic rush or have a bit of FOMO for the original flavor of the battle royale classic, it's all here for you to experience. It comes complete with Launch Royale Challenges that you can complete to unlock Legends and earn rewards. 
 

A revamped Lifeline

Lifeline was one of the standout Legends in the early days of Apex Legends, and this long-rumored revamp of her abilities is finally here. This "revived" Lifeline has a much more aggressive and offense-oriented kit, including the following abilities:

• Combat Glide: Hold jump mid-air to use Lifeline's D.O.C. combat drone to briefly glide, and deploy the drone to revive teammates, which leaves Lifeline free to defend.
• D.O.C. Heal Drone: D.O.C. heals nearby allies. You can now assign D.O.C. to follow allies once it's deployed.
• D.O.C. Halo: Throw your drone to activate a large shield. All players inside use Health and Shield consumables more quickly. 

These new abilities will allow fan-favorite Ajay Che to take a more active role in supporting and healing her allies while also allowing her team to quickly bounce back and overcome any obstacle they might encounter.
 

Rift Relics: A chaotic new loot zone

Rift Relics lend their name to Season 23, and that's for good reason. These reality-tearing relics drop valuable loot from the sky, making them a nexus point for ambitious Legends looking to get a leg up on their opponents. These drops include exotic explosives like the EPG-1 Launcher, impactful Hop-Ups like Lifesteal (which heals you with every hit), and survival items like the all-new Boost Kits. 

Rift Relics appear throughout the match, luring in players with the promise of more power. The party that gets their first will destroy the Rift Relic and gain the loot, only to have their position revealed to everyone in the surrounding area. Hunker down and watch out for any stragglers because, in this battle royale, only the survivors get to keep the prizes.
 

Support class perks

Legends that belong to the Support class can select from two new perks to further specialize their playstyle. Both perks offer significant boosts to a team-oriented playstyle, so it's up to you to decide which works for your favorite Support Legend:

• Heal Expert: Move at full walk speed while healing. Healing amount from small meds is doubled.
• Revive Expert: 25% faster revives, and you receive health regen on a successful revive. Banner crafting and ally Death Boxes now spawn a Mobile Respawn Beacon.

Along with these new perks, Support Legends will still have their extended supply bins, but banner crafting is now accessible to all Legends. Further changes will be made to their upgrades.
 

New universal melee: Raptor's Claw

This all-new universal melee cosmetic can be used by all Legends, and it certainly adds some style to your executions. You can grab this karambit-style cosmetic weapon in the Void Mercenary Store until January 7, 2025. Once you have it, you can unlock the Crystal Chamber Death Box as well as five other variants and their matching Death Boxes.

Grab the Ash Free Unlock Bundle and drop straight into Apex Legends: From The Rift for energetic mayhem and fun. The Bundle include:
