Food-fighting arena shooter RAWMEN: Food Fighter Arena is coming exclusively to the Epic Games Store on July 23 and it will be free-to-play, developer ANIMAL announced today.

The four-versus-four game has players take on the role of chefs in an over-the-top brawl where they use everything from dumplings to sausages as weapons.

In the Sudden Death mode, teams of chefs travel to various locations around the world, hoping to survive till the end, when they can decide to split the prize or fight among themselves for the whole enchilada.

In Meatball mode, players have to try to steer a giant ball of meat into a goal post. Claim Chowder has players fighting to control a zone while trying to slurp up the most soup, and Broth Battle is the game’s take on classic deathmatch.

The game also allows players to customize their character's body, hairstyle, tattoos, aprons, oven mitts, and even their pot companions. Winning matches unlocks cosmetics that you can use to tweak your chef’s look and gear.

Indie developers ANIMAL spoke with Epic Games Store News at length earlier this year about where the edible idea came from and the tumultuous route RAWMEN took to get where it is today. You can read that exclusive chat right here.

And of course, don’t forget to wishlist the game now as the timer counts down to the game’s July release.
