The Battlefield 2042 open beta will be live from October 6-9 on the Epic Games Store. To prepare for your deployment into the coming war, we’ve gathered all the necessary intel on the upcoming beta.

When Can I Play the Battlefield 2042 Open Beta?

Everyone can preload the beta starting on Oct. 5 via the Epic Games Store. The beta unlocks on Oct. 6 (at 07:00 UTC) for those who have pre-ordered the game. If you haven’t pre-ordered the game, you can play starting on Oct. 8 (at 07:00 UTC). The beta ends on Oct 9.

What Map Will be Available in the Beta?

Both teams are battling it out on Orbital. The South American map has a spaceport set on a lush coastline. Tanks, jets, helicopters, and the ground forces will battle each other and the level-changing weather while trying to secure victory. And, yes, the rocket dominating the map does explode.

What Gamemode is Available?

You’ll be playing Conquest during the beta. It’s designed to ensure the vast levels have plenty of flashpoints, guiding players into clusters filled with objectives, so you‘ll always have something to fight for, and people to fight against.

What Roles Will be Available?

Battlefield 2042’s beta has four specialists to play.

Webster MacKay

An outdoorsman with a grappling hook to scale the huge levels, and a speed boost while aiming down the sights.

Maria Falk

Maria is a medic. She can fire syringes that heal teammates and harms enemies and can revive downed allies to full health.

Pyotr “Boris” Guskovsky

He has an affinity for automation and can deploy the SG-36 Sentry Gun. It tracks and engages enemies, and marks them on Pyotr’s HUD, so he can add to their pain.

Wikus “Casper” Van Daele

The ghillie suit gives him away (or doesn’t) as a sniper. He backs up his steady aim with the OV-P Recon Drone that spots enemies and designates targets, and a movement sensor that’ll alert him to nearby enemies.

Battlefield 2042 launches on Nov. 19 on the Epic Games Store.
