By Torn Banner Studios
Greetings Lords and Ladies! It’s official! After such an incredible reaction to Chivalry 2’s Closed Beta, and officially going gold with the full game, we’ve decided to open up the beta to everyone with even MORE medieval mayhem to experience. To those who took part in the Alpha Tests, played the Closed Beta, and helped us along the way, we owe you one million shrubberies! Soon you’ll be able to hop into Chivalry 2’s Open Beta when it goes live on all platforms from May 27th-31st.

As you try on chain mail and fill your flagons with ale in preparation for the 27th, here’s a quick rundown of what’s coming in the Open Beta.

Maps & Modes

First off, let’s talk about all of the ways to charge into battle! The Open Beta will see some maps return from the Closed Beta while adding two new cinematically brutal Team Objective maps to the experience! Team Objective and Team Deathmatch will now be available in both 64 and 40 player lobbies so players have more freedom to pick the preferred scale of the battle before they jump in and start spamming those battle cries (aka the best way to spawn in!).
DarkForest2
We’re also extremely excited for players to get a taste of our Free For All mode, which is brand new for the Open Beta! Better yet, PC players will be able to use the server browser to jump into specially made Duel Servers so they can test their swordsmanship by challenging others to skillful fights to the death!

All Maps & Modes Available in Chivalry 2’s Open Beta:

⦁    Team Objective
⦁    The Slaughter of Coxwell
⦁    The Battle of Darkforest
⦁    The Siege of Rudhelm
⦁    Team Deathmatch
⦁    The Battle of Wardenglade
⦁    Tournament Grounds
⦁    Free For All
⦁    The Battle of Wardenglade
⦁    Tournament Grounds
⦁    + Duel Servers Available in PC Server Browser!

New Team Objective Map: The Slaughter of Coxwell

Coxwell1
Are those torches or are you just happy to see me? Burn the Agathian farming village, plunder the town’s gold and slaughter the town’s soldiers as the Mason Order in your conquest. With a nice balance of tight choke points and large arenas, things are sure to get bloody as the battle rips its way through Coxwell.

New Map: The Battle of Darkforest

DarkForest1
Under cover of darkness, the Mason Order charges through the Dark Forest to turn the tides of their conflict with the Agatha Knights. Escort a convoy of catapults to the final castle, and then assassinate the Agathian Duke! Keep your wits about you as you fight through Dark Forest’s wide open spaces, there may be some archers ready to put an arrow through your kne— I mean… skull.

Customization
Chivalry2 CustomizationSwing your sword hither and thither in style! For the first time ever in a public-facing build of Chivalry 2, you’ll have the opportunity to customize your character how you see fit with a variety of voices, faces, scars, tattoos, armor sets, weapon skins, and more! Customize your knight to look just like you or step into the sabatons of a brand new character of your own design, the choice is yours! Either way, Chivalry 2’s customization options have been designed to help each player’s character feel unique to them.

The entire team at Torn Banner and I are super excited to bring the Chivalry 2 Open Beta to players later this month and even more excited to launch the full game on June 8th, 2021. See you all on the battlefield. For glory!
