Dead by Daylight is bringing back its popular 2v8 mode this month with a killer Resident Evil collab.

The game mode, which has eight survivors trying to escape from two killers in The Fog, will be available from Feb. 10 to Feb. 25. And this time around, the mode comes with Resident Evil characters to select, and some themed gameplay tweaks thrown in the mix.

Resident Evil’s The Nemesis and The Mastermind, along with Dead by Daylight creation The Legion, join the Killer roster for the mode. The game already has four survivor characters, released over the years through dedicated Resident Evil themed chapters, as well as the Raccoon City Police Department map, which joins 2v8’s map rotation.

To make it easy to create your own Resident Evil themed run in the mode, all Resident Evil characters will be free to play exclusively in 2v8 for the duration of the event.

Dead by Daylight is also adding new thematic gameplay elements to this edition of the mode to get people in the Resident Evil mood.

In Dead by Daylight, The Nemesis and The Mastermind’s powers revolve around their ability to infect and weaken Survivors, The Nemesis with the T-Virus, The Mastermind using Uroboros. Should both The Nemesis and The Mastermind be chosen as Killers in a 2v8 match, a single unified antidote becomes the default Item in Supply Crates, capable of curing either infection.

RE's iconic green and yellow herbs are also being added. At the start of a match, the herbs randomly spawn around the map, with green herbs healing one Survivor Health State and yellow herbs healing one Hook State. To even the playing field, Killers can permanently destroy any herb they come across, getting a brief movement speed increase in the process.

Finally, the devs are adding two Survivor bots to every lobby in an effort to reduce potential Killer queue times.

To help celebrate the Resident Evil collab, developer Behaviour Interactive is also releasing six more outfits for the characters on Feb. 10. The Nemesis will receive the Nemesis Origin Outfit, while The Mastermind, Albert Wesker gets the New Dawn Outfit from his appearance in the recent Resident Evil 4 remake. On the Survivor side, Jill Valentine, Leon Kennedy, Ada Wong, and Rebecca Chambers will each see a new classic look added to their wardrobes.
