Zenless Zone Zero is the latest free-to-play action RPG from developer HoYoverse, the studio behind Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. Like HoYoverse's other games, Zenless Zone Zero features a delightfully varied cast of beastly warriors, special forces, and spunky fighters. Mastering each Agent (character) can be a challenge though, and you'll need to make the most of everyone’s unique abilities in fast and frantic combat engagements.

Our Zenless Zone Zero characters guide takes a look at all 17 of the Agents that are available in the launch version of the game. We discuss each Agent’s faction and Elemental Attribute—which grant bonuses depending on team composition—as well as their roles and specialties in battle.

The Agents of Zenless Zone Zero

Combat in Zenless Zone Zero pits your team of up to three Agents against dozens of foes. The action is fluid and fast-paced, requiring you to attack, dodge, activate skills, and unleash ultimate abilities when the opportunity arises. As an added wrinkle, stunning hostiles enables you to trigger devastating combo chains.

Each Agent generally specializes in a particular role:

  • Attack: Main DPS/damage-dealers, focused solely on offense.
  • Defense: Tough fighters with high HP, able to protect your allies as necessary.
  • Stun: Strikes and abilities tend to cause higher Daze meter build-up.
  • Support: Grants additional offensive or utility buffs for your team.
  • Anomaly: Applies debuffs that weaken characters or cause additional damage.

Understanding each character’s role in battle helps improve overall cohesion and synergy. Likewise, Agents have an additional passive trait that takes effect if there’s another party member from the same faction or with the same Elemental Attribute.

Nicole Demara

  • Faction: Cunning Hares
  • Elemental Attribute: Ether
  • Specialty: Support
  • Rarity: A

Assists and switches also create vortices that pull in enemies, allowing her allies to deal damage to several foes in a short span of time.

Anby Demara

  • Faction: Cunning Hares
  • Elemental Attribute: Electric
