Why Early Access?
As a solo developer, releasing BMX Bastards in Early Access allows me to fully dedicate myself to the game’s development while also covering some of the production costs. Early Access gives players a chance to experience the game early and be part of the development process by providing valuable feedback. This collaborative approach helps shape the final product, ensuring it becomes something the community and I build together.
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
With so many features and possibilities in BMX, it’s difficult to set a specific date. Most likely, BMX Bastards will remain in Early Access throughout 2025, or even longer if needed to perfect all the content and mechanics.
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
The full version of BMX Bastards will include all features, both simple and complex, polished to their best form. This includes major additions like multiplayer mode, a park editor, and more. The goal is to minimize bugs and create a smooth and enjoyable gameplay experience for all players.
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
Currently, BMX Bastards is in a pre-alpha state, which means the core gameplay mechanics are in place, but many features are still being developed or refined. Players can already experience a portion of the game, but there will be noticeable bugs, missing content, and mechanics that need further polish as the game evolves during Early Access.
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
Yes, the game’s price will increase as it gains more value. As more content and features are added, the price will reflect the growing scope and experience offered to players. Therefore, the final version will be priced higher than the Early Access version.
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
Just like with the prototype demo I released in late 2023, I will carefully consider every piece of feedback from players to keep improving and polishing the game as much as possible. Players’ suggestions and ideas will play a crucial role in shaping the final product. I’ll also actively engage with the community through community groups, social media, and regular updates, ensuring that their voices are heard throughout the entire development process.
