Vera and her twin sister Milena journey to an altar to leave offerings to the Slavic god Perun, praying for peace and health in the world of the living — Jawia. But when Milena disappears near the ancient entrance to the Forbidden Forest, Vera follows her screams into a place once believed to imprison wandering demons. The gates shut behind her. The sun has set. There is no way out.
