Disney Dreamlight Valley Early Access FAQ
Why Early Access?
As with the development of any game, our developers stepped up to various challenges and learned many lessons. Our team has spent time perfecting the gameplay, physics, controls, camera, and more, while also nailing the artistic vision and conceit of the game. Just like with all our games, this is only the beginning for Disney Dreamlight Valley, with lots of new content to come.
Players participating in the Disney Dreamlight Valley Early Access phase will be the first to explore Dreamlight Valley and receive exclusive rewards that they will keep once the game officially launches next year. Please stay tuned for more details on the exclusive rewards.
As part of Early Access, we are committed to hearing player feedback and working to make sure all players feel included and represented.
How long will the game be in Early Access?
The game will be in Early Access until sometime in 2023; the exact date will depend on our development speed before then. This means that we will be in Early Access for a minimum period of 6 months.
What is the current state of the game?
The gameplay experience expands on the traditional elements of a life-sim game with a robust, narrative-driven adventure composed of a solo campaign and a unique friendship system within the village sandbox where each Disney- and Pixar-inspired character has their own dedicated story arc.
Daily Valley Activities have been designed to deepen players’ connections with their in-game friends. Activities showcase the natural genre-IP fit, as beloved activities such as fishing are transformed into moments to share with your Disney neighbors, like Goofy.
Will the price change when the game leaves Early Access?
To participate in Early Access, you must purchase a Founder's Pack. By purchasing the Founder's Pack and being one of the first players, you'll interact with the game team and help us make a better game. As Founders, you'll experience the game first and will be rewarded with tons of Founder-exclusive items that will not be available later on (after Early Access). The game will be free-to-play as we come out of Early Access.
It's important to note that the content of the Founder's Pack exceeds the value of the packs themselves and will be available only during Early Access.
What should we expect when the game leaves Early Access?
After Early Access, Disney Dreamlight Valley will include an in-game store filled with cosmetic items to customize your character and House. The game features no monetization mechanisms such as a paid Energy system or gameplay time skipper. Paid content is limited to cosmetic or paid game extensions, which will be available in the future.
Can I provide feedback and bug reports?
We plan to leverage the help of the community through a dedicated Discord channel, social networks, and surveys. We plan to use bug boards with priority set in collaboration with the community. We will also use automatic data collection to help us better balance and polish Disney Dreamlight Valley.
We are creating a large sandbox game with tons of possible situations, so we cannot possibly explore every single mission and combination of character choice, tool, location, and dialogue choice without our players, and their voices will be heard. The community will also be leveraged for the construction of the multiplayer features.
How often will you be updating the game?
The team has a plan for regular content updates and is dedicated to making sure the game grows and evolves; we also have special content designed for real-world Disney and Pixar events, such as movie releases. Some updates will feature incremental improvements; others will bring new Disney Realms and characters.
Will my progress be saved during updates?
Yes.
