HUMANKIND™ - Together We Rule Expansion Pack

THE CONGRESS OF HUMANKIND

Get involved in an inter-empire forum with the Congress of Humankind. The congress will allow players to vote and decide on global doctrines and arbitrate international conflicts together.
No matter how big or small the Empire, all have their say in the world order, but the weight of their words will depend on the new Leverage currency. Together you will rule the world!

NEW QUARTER: EMBASSY

This new Quarter will bring your negotiation tactics to a higher level!

Deepen ties and sign agreements beneficial for both your empires, like joint training or research agreements. Or use the new currency, Leverage, to force an empire to take specific actions to your benefit, like lowering war support or enforcing demands.

NEW UNIT FAMILY: AGENT

Use this new unit family to gather a brand-new currency, Leverage, to unlock new diplomatic actions! They will also allow you to infiltrate, sabotage and disinform other empires.

There are three units in the Agent family:

  • The Envoy, or diplomat, will move freely on the map without diplomatic restrictions and collect Leverage on other empires. They can also be used to influence Independent People more quickly.

  • The Spy, to focus on infiltration, will be able to infiltrate other empires, gain information, exploit a district and steal their resources or even track and follow an army’s position on the map.

  • The Spymaster, an advanced spy, has two additional sabotage actions. They can disrupt a district to disable its functionality temporarily, or they can disorganize an army, giving them an important combat malus.

6 NEW DIPLOMATIC AFFINITY CULTURES

The new Diplomatic Affinity allows its cultures to have a more active role in the world’s diplomacy. Their Active Ability allows them to demilitarize a territory for 10 turns, while their Passive Ability allows all their units, beyond just agents, to collect Leverage.

This affinity also introduces a new way to gain Fame, Diplomatic Stars, earned by collecting leverage during each era.

Era 1 – Sumerians

In the fourth millennium BCE some major revolutions of human history took place in lower Mesopotamia. Sumerian populations gathered in what became the first urban communities in history, where they developed complex social organizations and invented writing. In their clay tablets, the Sumerian recorded the first proof of diplomatic treaties.

Era 2 – Han Chinese

In 206 BCE, the revolt led by Liu Bang succeeded in taking over the Imperial power first established by Shi Huangdi. Reinforced in his Imperial prerogative and Emperor of greater state, he founded the long-lasting Han dynasty whose reign saw the reinforcement of the imperial administration and the establishment of long-distance diplomatic relationships.

Era 3 – Bulgarians

Coming from the Pontic steppes, the proto-bulgars settled at the Byzantine Empire margins near the Danube mouth at the end of the 7th century. From there, they founded a powerful khanate and expanded into the Balkans. Their military successes enabled them to request tributes, the official titles of Caesar Basileus (Emperor) and the independence of the Bulgarian patriarchate from the Byzantine emperors.

Era 4 – Swiss

From the 14th century, the old confederacy grew to regroup 13 territories. The resounding military victories of their armies against the Habsburgs and the Holy Roman Empire enabled their members to emancipate from their tutelage and to make the incomparable value of Swiss soldiers on the battlefields known throughout Europe.

Era 5 – Scots

From the 18th century until the beginning of the 20th century, the Scots underwent a massive transformation. The Act of Unions between Scotland and England, land reforms, the Enlightenment and the Industrial Revolution brought major changes, leading to a profound mutation of their society, economy, and way of life.

Era 6 – Singaporeans

Since their independence, the Singaporeans have benefited from the combination of their strategic location on one of the most active trade routes in the world with great political, diplomatic and economic decisions to become a major economic and financial center of global trade.

Humankind Ratings & Reviews

PCGamesN

by Richard Scott-Jones

8 / 10

The most direct challenger to Civilization yet is full of brilliant ideas which could yet change the genre, although bugs and underdeveloped features occasionally get in the way of the fun.

IGN

by Leana Hafer

7 / 10

Humankind is an interesting but fairly safe riff on historical 4X that doesn't always rise to meet its potential.

GamesRadar+

by Ruth Cassidy

Embracing player motivations from start to finish, Humankind refreshes the 4X genre – even with a couple of technical kinks.
