Max Beyond is a third person action adventure game with elements of stealth, combat and tactical gameplay layered with a cinematic story bursting with twists and turns.
You play as Leon, a former Marine who is unknowingly jumping through multiple universes to breakout his adopted little brother - Max from a secret lab fortress known as Axion where he is held captive as the subject of life threatening scientific experimentation.
Max has the special ability to harness power from the universe by distorting the fabric of time and space, and that is why he is a patient at Axion.
Your mission is - do whatever it takes to keep Max alive in each reality in order to bring balance to the universe.
If you fail - Max dies. If Max dies, the universe will shatter into chaos.
The USP of this game, lies in its overall game mechanic where the player also controls Max, via smart commands and can utilise his powers, but must use them wisely as Max gets weaker the more you his abilities are tapped by the player.
Secondary Character (Max) powers / abilities
Tap into Max’s abilities as a weapon to assist with combat.
Max can muster up quantum energy to shoot power projectiles at enemies
Max can slow down time in mid-action for you to get accurate kills and achieve some awesome looking combo action rewarded with more kill points.
The more powerful the ability that is used, the longer the recharge time is for Max to be able to use his powers again, so use wisely.
You can only access three abilities at a time, and as the game progresses, different abilities will be available, 2 at a time.
There will be over 15 other abilities Max will have, some of these include:
Levitation: Max can rise up and attack from above.
Shield: Max can create a force field around him and Leon to deflect bullets for a few seconds.
Telekinesis 01: Max can paralyse the players temporarily.
Telekinesis 02: Max can make nearby enemy heads explode.
Object elevation: Max can use physics based objects and air throw them at enemies from a distance. He can even cause an object to bounce off a wall to hit an enemy, making this all about skills.
Couch Co-Op Multiplayer Mode
In this co-op mode, Player 1 controls Leon & Player 2 controls Max, via Split Screen.
The enemies will be much more aggressive and will come in waves when attacking making it very challenging and yet a fun co-op experience..
-Co-op mode will only be available (unlocked) once the player as Leon has made it into the building and breaks out Max in single player mode.
Co-op gameplay is not just combat based, but also includes timed missions to move large objects around in stealth mode to create barriers to slow down enemies or prevent their bullets hitting you.
