Nuclear Fission Simulator

Simulates the fission of Uranium 235 (U235) atoms.

Fire neutrons at Uranium atoms! Try to start a chain reaction!

Use the left mouse button to fire neutrons(glowing white spheres) at the uranium atoms.

The Uranium atoms in red are U235, an unstable isotope of Uranium.
The Uranium atoms in grey are U238, they are stable.

If you shoot a red U235, it will split into 2 or 3 more neutrons(glowing white).

If these neutrons hit other U235 atoms, they will also fission.

Try to adjust the amount of atoms, spacing and concentration of U235 to generate various results.

Try to create a nice slow burning reaction, or simulate a full blown run-away chain reaction!

Notes:
During actual fission, the atom breaks into two smaller atoms(daughter nuclei).
But, we don't show the daughter nuclei because it slows the game down too much.

Other:
Use the right mouse button to zoom the camera in.

Notes:
This was written with Unreal Engine 5.3

Thanks for playing!
