Why Early Access?
We have been working hard to make sure that PHAGEBORN: Online Card Game is not just a fantastic tactical game, but so it also has the qualities that players love and the depth that they will want to keep playing on and on.
We need to flesh out some new systems to see how they work in real play. We also have plans to introduce a battle pass with both free and VIP elements that we aim to introduce and test over the next few months. Note: we will never sell cards.
We are excited to see how our existing fans, as well as new players, react to how far we have come with this new build and help guide us through the finishing touches in Early Access.
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
We aim to come out of early access as soon as possible, targeting early 2023.
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
The Early Access version of the game has:
- Playing Modes: 1v1, Vs AI playing modes
- Dual Lane Battlegrounds: Making placement as important as which card you use
- Avatars: Entities which add further tactical depth through Leadership, Energy or Overcharge
- 4 Factions: Each offering a different narrative and style of play
- Seal Tree Progression: Allowing players to unlock all of the cards without having to buy them
The full version will introduce additional factions, more narrative, and additional features e.g. 2v2 play. We will also be introducing the Battle Pass system during the Early Access period – but this will not be active initially.
Please note the Early Access version may include some content which is being tested for later inclusion in upcoming battlepasses.
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
The game is not yet fully featured and is still being developed. The premium elements are not yet available and will be introduced during Early Access.
Please note that players who purchased the Founder's Pass will receive all of their rewards (including 12 months premium VIP Battlepass) from the full launch of the game.
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
The game will be free to play with a premium VIP Battlepass as well as cosmetic and progression boosters.
Please note: Boosters do not affect in-game balance.

Does the game have In App Purchases?
Yes currently in PHAGEBORN you are able to purchase Fatestones, the premium currency in the game used to buy items in the Merchant Shop.
A “+” symbol can be seen alongside your Fatestone balance in the top right corner of the screen while you are on any of the main menus. Payment is facilitated though Epic Games.
Important to note it is not necessary to purchase Fatestones in order to play and experience PHAGEBORN.
