From the high-speed trainset that started it all, to state-of-the-art high-speed multiple units, the face of German’s ICE network has been long-standing and iconic since the mid-1980s, but that face hasn’t always worn the standard white and red accents of the Deutsche Bahn. In recent years, a growing and fabulous tradition has been spreading across railway networks throughout Europe; the “trainbow”. In 2021, Deutsche Bahn joined in the celebration of love and progress by adding the pride flag as a stripe along the whole length of ICE 3 403 022/504, marking the 10th anniversary of Railbow, DB’s staff-led pride initiative.
