How is blockchain, NFT, or cryptocurrency used in this product?

You don't need to use blockchain, NFTs or cryptocurrency to play ChronoForge. If however you want to produce tradable game items and characters, we offer this as an optional added experience.

During gameplay you will have the opportunity transform some of your characters and items into NFTs if you complete certain achievements and spend an amount of $RIFT token.

These NFTs will be tradable on the Ethereum blockchain protocol and Immutable X layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum.

What utility does this bring to the product?

By turning your characters and items into NFTs you can trade them with players across the globe on many third party marketplaces. Storing ownership information and item metadata on a public blockchain means that other games studios and companies can build experiences around those same characters/items in future.

Does this product require me to connect an external wallet? What wallets does this product support?

You do not need to connect an external wallet to play ChronoForge, however you will need one if you want to make use of any NFTs or $RIFT rewards.

There are many different types of wallets but we recommend using a MetaMask wallet.

These providers have browser extensions that allow you to easily interact with the Ethereum network. Using the extensions, you can set up a wallet and link it to ChronoForge, and view your in-game items.

Can I use the product without interacting or engaging with blockchain, NFT, or cryptocurrency?

Absolutely! You can play the entire game without engaging with blockchain, NFTs or cryptocurrencies.

What chain does this product use? Is the chain proof-of-work or proof-of-stake?

ChronoForge uses the Ethereum blockchain (which uses proof-of-stake) and Immutable X, which is a zkRollup built on top of the Ethereum blockchain.

Does this product have a marketplace? What can I do with the things that I earn (or purchase)?

This product is supported by various third party NFT marketplaces including Opensea, Token Trove and the Immutable X marketplace. You can trade your NFTs on these marketplaces.
