What is Gods Unchained?

Gods Unchained is a free-to-play tactical card game that gives players true ownership of their in-game items by using NFTs on the Ethereum Blockchain and Immutable X.
The game focuses on competitive play, which means players must strategically outsmart their opponents by building decks that are able to combat a wide variety of tactics.
In Gods Unchained players completely own their digital items, giving them the freedom to trade, sell and use their cards any way they like – just like owning real, tangible cards.

Do I have to understand blockchain or the Ethereum network?

Not at all. Blockchain (specifically the Ethereum network and Immutable X) are simply tools that allow players to completely own their cards. You can play the game without a need to understand the inner workings of the game's systems. If you wish to collect NFT cards, however, you will need to create and add a wallet to your account.
To give a short summary of how our systems work: NFT cards are stored on Immutable X, using the same security as the Ethereum network, and players only interact with Immutable X when they want to trade cards with other players. All other events in the game run using industry standard technologies like Unity, allowing gameplay to be indistinguishable from other games that don’t employ distributed ledgers.
That said, we’re obsessed with the Ethereum network’s ability to store digital assets as well as host its own currency (known as ETH). It’s one of the main reasons we started Gods Unchained to begin with. This opens gaming up to so many possibilities that can bring the medium forward in leaps and bounds. Immutable X is a layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum, making NFT trading far more accessible to both mainstream audiences who aren’t familiar with the network and experienced audiences alike.

What is a wallet?

Wallets act much like real wallets – they hold any of your digital items, whether they are cards, boards, trinkets, ETH, or anything else you may come across within Gods Unchained or on the blockchain!
If you purchase Cards, Forge cards, or trade currencies to and from your account, they are all recorded on the Blockchain publicly via your wallet. Every wallet has a unique ID, which is what links your digital assets to you. What’s more, they are completely free to set up and own.

Do I need a wallet to play Gods Unchained?

While you can play Gods Unchained without ever needing a wallet, you’ll need one in order to unlock the full potential and own your cards as NFTs or earn $GODS rewards!

Which wallets are supported by Gods Unchained?

There are many different types of wallets but we recommend using either a MetaMask or GameStop wallet, as they are compatible with both Gods Unchained and Immutable X.
These providers have browser extensions that allow you to easily interact with the Ethereum network. Using the extensions, you can set up a wallet and link it to Gods Unchained to sign in, make purchases, and view your in-game items.

What's Immutable X (IMX)?

Immutable X (IMX) is the platform that powers Gods Unchained to enable all the features that involve the blockchain, such as trading your Cards, Collectables, and $GODS tokens; buying Card Packs and Shine Fusing your cards in The Forge. So, when you add a wallet to Gods Unchained, you are also adding it to the Immutable X platform. But remember, adding your wallet doesn’t give Gods Unchained or Immutable X any power over your wallet or its contents without your authorisation.

What is $GODS?

$GODS is the native ERC-20 token of the Gods Unchained universe.

How do I purchase $GODS tokens?

$GODS can be purchased directly from the Immutable X Marketplace (IMX) using a Credit Card or by swapping it for ETH, after depositing funds onto the IMX platform (Layer 2 Ethereum).

What do you mean by staking $GODS?

  • $GODS tokens consumed by systems like The Forge and Gods Unchained store sales will be allocated to the $GODS Staking Rewards Pool. These tokens will then be distributed to all users that qualify as active stakers
  • The number of tokens staked is measured by the lowest amount of tokens the user held in their Immutable X account during the given reward interval period.
