Just in time for Halloween, A Plague Tale: Requiem has arrived on the Epic Games Store. After escaping from their plague-ridden homeland in A Plague Tale: Innocence, siblings Amicia and Hugo are once again in the midst of a fight for their lives. Hugo’s illness returns, bringing death and swarms of rats to their new home, forcing them to flee once again, hoping to find a prophesized island that holds the cure to Hugo’s curse. 

The stealth adventure has grown a lot since the first game. In Innocence, Amica’s survival skills were entirely stealth-based and passive, and being spotted was deadly. But now she can fight back, battling off the people looking to hunt and kill her and her brother. She can keep to the shadows and strike out, or even take the fight to the Inquisition soldiers upending the country. She has a number of upgradable skills and gadgets that can spread fire and spawn rats among her enemies. 

Hugo’s reawakened illness gives him a deeper connection to the rats. He can sense what they sense, enabling him to see people through walls. If need be, he can control an entire group of rats, hunting down soldiers in a vast swarm of death. But each time he does, he weakens. You’d do the same for your brother and sister, right?
