Fortnite’s latest season is here and hints at more of the OG stories to take center stage once again. The Ice King and Foundation have returned and are going head-to-head. Which side will you choose? 

Join me as we take a quick sightseeing tour around the new points of interest on the map. Note: All of these pictures were taken using Fortnite’s in-game replay tool.

Frigid Fortress
Originally appearing in 2018, the Ice King makes a return to the island, and he brings his entire castle with him! Occupying a massive swath of the northernmost point of the island sits a map unto itself. Huge battlements and tower spires dot the perimeter, and inside are many secrets to explore.
Land here and you’ll be greeted with self-aggrandizing monuments, a spread of purple and blue hues, and a castle filled with rooms that will stop you in your tracks. Let’s start with the throne room. Moody, intimidating, and look closely to see some recognizable characters trapped in the ice. 
Dark Dominion
Just a short trek down the way from the Frigid Fortress is what appears to be a staging area for harnessing the zero-point shards. You can see that this device in the center is trying to reconstruct it. Inside the buildings are offices and monitoring devices everywhere. 
I especially love the fall foliage at this location. The trees, and even the tech and glass, feature a beautiful orange hue throughout the space. 
My favorite part of this location is the underground portion. What looks to be some kind of data center and a questionable energy beam flowing underground delivers a very espionage-esque feeling. The corridor at the bottom feels like the perfect spot to hide if you need to! 
New Sanctuary 
If you were playing Fortnite when The Seven first made their debut, you’ll remember the first Sanctuary. Well, it’s back! 
This location is clearly where The Seven are prepping for battle. Underground bunkers and satellites aren't exactly the most inconspicuous things to keep prying eyes away. Oh, and did I mention there is a rocket being built?
Squibbly Shores
Ending our jaunt across the new POIs is arguably the cutest new location on the map, and that is because our small bulbous jellies are here!
Scattered ruins, pools that heal, and gorgeous sunset views make this spot ideal for vacationing.

I think this location is a graphical highlight of the map. The water reflects the light so beautifully, and I love how the foaming water looks along the coast. 
The lighthouse, in particular, is a lovely spot to ascend and get a good view of the distant locations. Highly recommend taking a few games to just explore the great work done by the game artists. Those sweet Victory Royales can wait, I promise!
The End
You probably noticed those shards at quite a few of the new locations. You’ll want to keep your eye on those throughout the season. And don’t forget to slow down, grab a taco, and enjoy the view.
