Another World is part of the video game landscape and was a milestone in Eric's career. It is a visceral game that Eric poured his soul into throughout the two years of its development. Its suggestive, non-verbal gameplay has captured the imagination of gamers and has been a major influence on many developers.
Since the original version, the re-release (PC 15th Anniversary in 2005, mobiles versions in 2011) have introduced a lot of interesting additions, such as 256-color backgrounds, resolutions up to 720p, more save points, and remastered sound effects. This version offers a full HD experience. The game uses a higher resolution than the one displayed to allow for polygon edges with clean anti-aliasing. The backgrounds have been enhanced by Eric to achieve a higher resolution and are now displayed in full color. This makes for a brighter, clearer and noise-free environment. The animations have also been refined to remove the rough edges revealed by using such high resolution. The soundtrack of the Sega Mega-CD version has been added as an option, so the game now has a real soundtrack.
Another World chronicles the story of Lester Knight Chaykin a young scientist hurtled through space and time by a nuclear experiment that goes wrong. In an alien and inhospitable world, you will have to dodge, outwit, and overcome the host of alien monsters, while surviving an environment as deadly as your enemies. Only a perfect blend of logic and skill will get you past the deadly obstacles that lie in wait.
