ARC Raiders: Everything you need to know about the Riven Tides update

The latest content drop for ARC Raiders adds a brand new map and a tough ARC machine opponent. There are also more ways to gain extra loot and various activities tied to progression systems. Here’s everything you need to know about the ARC Raiders Riven Tides update.
New map: Riven Tides
The Riven Tides update lets you play on the titular map, one that’s dominated by the sprawling Panorama Azzuro Resort. Once an idyllic holiday getaway, the resort now consists of a ruined hotel, drained pools, leisure facilities, and long-forgotten beachside cabanas that have fallen into disrepair.
A short distance away, you’ll also find an abandoned dockyard filled with stacked cargo containers and rusted pipelines. Likewise, there are various Exodus structures, harkening back to a time when humanity sought to leave the world behind.
New map condition: Beachcombing
No vacation would be complete without some souvenirs. Fortunately, the ARC Raiders Riven Tides map has its own map condition known as Beachcombing, which allows you to gather all sorts of items and materials to take home.

This is done by using a tool known as the Dockmaster’s Detector, which you sweep across the sands as you look for random buried loot. Just bear in mind that the Dockmaster’s Detector takes up a weapon slot, and the most bountiful places happen to be in open areas. If you’re doing runs with teammates, then you definitely need to ask them to watch your back while you’re looking for treasure.
New fall damage mitigation items: Crash Mat and Powered Descender
In the same vein, players will be able to find blueprints for two new craftable items that can help mitigate fall damage: the Crash Mat and the Powered Descender. Traversal should be a lot easier, especially if you no longer have to worry about smashing straight into the ground.
- Crash Mat: This is a throwable emergency landing device. It’s crafted via the Utility Station III, and it requires 1x Electrical Components and 1x Durable Cloth.
- Powered Descender: This reduces falling speed while in the air, but it has a wind-up time before reaching full force. It also shuts down once it’s out of power. It’s crafted via the Utility Station III, and it requires 1x Power Rod and 1x Turbine Compressor.
New ARC enemy: ARC Turbine
While exploring the coasts and facilities, you need to beware of new threats known as ARC Turbines. These massive floating platforms loom over the horizon, and you need to track and bring them down to obtain rewards. Just watch out for deadly and explosive defensive measures that these hostile machines employ.
New project: Avian Alarm
The Avian Alarm is a new five-stage project that tasks you with deploying Bird Cages at buoys along the Riven Tides coastline. That’s because experts believe that the birds themselves ought to be able to act as a “security system” to aid survivors in Speranza.

The rewards for completing the project include the aforementioned Dockmaster’s Detector used for your Beachcombing activities, the Bird House backpack attachment, Fist In Air emote, Gel Patches, and 250 Raider Tokens premium currency.
New Last Resort event, Expedition window, and cosmetics
The ARC Raiders Riven Tides update lets you partake in the time-limited Last Resort event, which runs from April 28 through May 25. As usual, Merit is automatically converted from the XP you earn when playing on any map. However, it’s also possible to earn additional Merit by finding miniature ship models. These collectibles are scattered across various locations, so keep your eyes peeled.
The Merits you amass can then be used to unlock rewards, including the Junior Outfit, Hydrologist Backpack, Hose attachment, Brass Faucet charm, 250 Raider Tokens, and more.

Likewise, players can expect a recurring Expedition project, which has a new window that lasts from April 28 through May 11. Instead of gathering stash value and coins, players must deal damage to earn up to +5 skill points. For instance, dealing 5,000 total damage grants +1 skill point, while reaching 100,000 damage dealt grants the full +5 skill points bonus.
- Players gain +5 permanent skill points on top of those obtained during the previous Expedition window. Players who were unable to obtain all +5 skill points will be able to catch up during this new window.
- Other Expedition rewards include extra stash space, the new Scrappy outfit, and the Evolution of the Patchwork outfit, which has additional toggles and color variations.
- This Expedition introduces the Last Call feature for those who were unable to sign up during the window. The damage dealt requirement is no longer necessary, but no bonus skill points will be awarded.
Those who want to team up with survivors to take the fight to the machine menace and reclaim humanity’s lost homeland should pick up ARC Raiders, which is available now on Epic Games Store. If you’re new to the game, we have a beginner’s guide to help you get started.
