Astro Bot takes Game of the Year, four others at D.I.C.E. Awards

HELLDIVERS 2 received four awards during the night, including Online Game of the Year. Balatro and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle took home three awards each.
GameScience was awarded Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction for Black Myth: Wukong, and Atlus’ Studio Zero won Role-Playing Game of the Year for Metaphor: Refantazio.
The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences event was co-hosted by Greg Miller of Kinda Funny and Stella Chung and live-streamed by IGN. Read our interview with the two right here. It also included a celebration of two industry leaders.
Don James, a leader and cornerstone of Nintendo of America’s legacy, received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the games industry from his foundational work at Nintendo and work with the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
The AIAS also honored Ted Price, president and founder of Insomniac Games, with the Hall of Fame award for his contributions to game development, including leading Insomniac Games for three decades and advocating for video game creators’ First Amendment rights.
The evening wrapped up the week’s annual D.I.C.E. Summit, which was held at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
