Playing Borderlands 4 is like having infinite presents to open. Loot is the name of the game in the Borderlands series, and Borderlands 4 features a mind-boggling number of unique weapons to chase as you explore the planet of Kairos. In addition to the usual suite of weapon types like assault rifles, sniper rifles, and rocket launchers, Borderlands 4 takes things to the next level with unique weapon manufacturers and randomized attachments that make each weapon wholly unique.

Kairos is home to several Vaults, bandit camps, and farmable bosses that can drop legendary gear—but not all farming spots are created equal. This Borderlands 4 guide compiles a list of the best loot farming spots, including the locations for the best gear to equip on your Vault Hunters. Happy hunting!
Borderlands 4 Loot Farm Splashzone

Splashzone

One of Borderlands 4's best loot farming bosses is also one of its earliest. You'll face Splashzone during the opening hour of the game while running errands for Claptrap, and this bandit leader is a fan-favorite farming target.

Splashzone has a few dedicated legendary drops that don't come from other bosses, including the Firewerks grenade, which many players chase after for its ridiculous number of explosions.

The best thing about Splashzone, however, is how quickly he can be defeated. Splashzone can be taken down in just a few seconds, and the Moxxi's Big Encore machine to respawn him is only a few steps away. Plus, you can sell all of the junk drops at the vending machine next to Moxxi's Big Encore to cover the rematch cost.

Farming Splashzone is the easiest way to get showered in legendary loot as long as you're not hunting for anything specific. Come back whenever your weapons start feeling weak and you'll easily walk away with some sweet new toys.
Borderlands 4 Loot Farm Radix

Primordial Guardian Radix

Vex is one of the most popular characters in Borderlands 4. Her unique Siren abilities allow her to lean into some pretty crazy builds, and she gets even stronger with the right gear—especially one of the class mods you can get by loot farming Primordial Guardian Radix.

Radix is the guardian of a Vault in Carcadia Burn, the northwestern portion of Kairos. You'll have to track down three Vault Key Fragments in order to unlock this boss fight. Once you've found them all, you can bring them to the Arch of Radix in the northern part of the Grindstone of the Worthy region.

Radix has a large selection of dedicated legendary loot drops that cannot be obtained from other sources. They're all great, but the best drop is the Teen Witch class mod for Vex.

The Teen Witch class mod makes Vex's lifesteal abilities apply to her shields instead of just her HP. When her shields are full, it converts lifesteal into overshield. This item is a cornerstone of several Vex builds, so you'll want to farm Radix over and over until you get a decent roll.

Other Vault guardians are also fantastic sources of loot, so make sure to seek out Vault Key Fragments across Kairos. Not only do they guard some of the best weapons in the entire game, but their drop rates are much better than standard bosses you find elsewhere.
Borderlands 4 Loot Farm Driller Hole

Driller Hole

The Driller Hole boss is encountered as part of Borderlands 4's story, during the Unpaid Tab main quest. Once you've completed this quest, you can return to Queen's Cradle in Carcadia Burn to farm him repeatedly.

Driller Hole is a very popular farming target for legendary gear since he's so easy to beat. Like Splashzone, the Moxxi's Big Encore machine is just a few steps away from the arena, so there's very little downtime between battles. Driller Hole also sports weaknesses to Corrosive and Fire damage, so you can easily melt both of his health bars.

Driller Hole's dedicated legendary drops are some of the best in the game, especially for how easy they are to get. The Fuse grenade deals constant AOE damage wherever it lands, the Katagawa's Revenge sniper rifle shoots fireballs and shock orbs, and the G.M.R. assault rifle fires devastating projectiles when zoomed in.

Of course, Driller Hole can also drop a bunch of other gear, so it's a good idea to visit him whenever your weapons and equipment need refreshing.
Borderlands 4 Loot Farm Foundry Freaks

Foundry Freaks

The Foundry Freaks are a trio of bosses found at The Pitted Stain Ripper Drill Site in Idolator's Noose on the southern side of the map.

Since there are three bosses, there are three chances to get great loot here. You'll have to clear most of the camp in order to lure the Foundry Freaks out, but you can take care of everything in just a few minutes before repeating the process for more loot. Once again, the Moxxi's Big Encore machine is right outside the camp, so you won't waste any time.

The Foundry Freaks drop some great legendary weapons like the Chaumurky grenade, which homes in on enemies once thrown. The Chuck assault rifle is another of their dedicated drops. You can't shoot it, but you can throw it at enemies to deal massive damage. There's also the Bloody Lumberjack, a legendary assault rifle that fires ricocheting sawblades.

The Foundry Freaks are one of the most efficient farming targets in Borderlands 4 because of the sheer volume of loot you'll get from slaying three bosses, so pay them a visit if you need some new gear.
Borderlands 4 Loot Farm Rippa Roadbirds

Rippa Roadbirds

Another trio of bosses, the Rippa Roadbirds are found at the Saw's Clench Ripper Drill Site in Carcadia Burn in the northwestern part of the map.

This is another high-volume loot farm since there are three bosses at the same camp. Once you clear the Rippers and summon the bosses, you can take each of them down for a shot at a legendary drop. Bring a shock weapon to make quick work of their shields.

The Rippa Roadbirds don't have too many must-have legendary drops, but there is one that everyone wants: the Wombo Combo. This Vladof assault rifle boasts an unbelievably high fire rate, and it also continually fires rockets from the underbarrel while shooting. As you'd expect, this thing destroys anything in front of it.

Since there are three bosses at Saw's Clench, you'll have three chances to get the Wombo Combo every time you respawn the Rippa Roadbirds. They can also drop a bunch of other generic legendaries like any other boss, so it's basically impossible to walk away empty handed.
Borderlands 4 Loot Farm Skyspanner Kratch

Skyspanner Kratch

The Skyspanner Kratch is a huge flying boss found at the end of The Lambent Mines in Terminus Range.

This giant Kratch is a pain to fight because it never lands, but you can make the farming process a bit easier if you bring the right weapons. Long-range guns with fire damage are the best tools here.

The Skyspanner Kratch has a chance to drop one of the best shotguns in the entire game: the Linebacker. This thing fires explosive bouncing projectiles that get boosted damage and explosion radius with every bounce. A ridiculous number of projectiles can be active at once, so you can destroy enemies in seconds—especially if they're in an enclosed arena.

Even if you don't get the Linebacker shotgun, you can also get lucky with two of the Skyspanner Kratch's other legendary drops. The Hellfire submachine gun deals massive fire damage, and the Hoarder shield makes enemies drop ammo boosters that reload your weapon.
Borderlands 4 Loot Farm Golden Chest

Golden Keys

Last but certainly not least, Golden Keys are an easy way to get legendary loot in Borderlands 4.

These can be obtained with SHiFT Codes, which are frequently given out by Gearbox on social media. Some of them are permanent, but most of them expire after a brief period. Make sure to check often to snag new codes!

When you get a Golden Key, you can use it to open the Golden Chest at most major settlements. It's basically guaranteed to give you great loot, including legendaries and more if you're lucky. At the very least, you'll walk away with some solid new gear.

Borderlands 4 is available now on the Epic Games Store.
