Doodle Mafia lets you roleplay as both a crook or a cop, and it's free this week on the Epic Games Store for mobile. 

What do you need to make a solid Detective Story? According to Doodle Mafia, there are four ingredients: a Crime, a Person, a Wallet, and a Metal Bar. If  you combine all four of those Elements, not only do you get a Detective Story, but you get the basic gameplay premise in developer JoyBits’ Doodle Mafia. 

Like other games in the Doodle franchise, players combine myriad Elements in different ways to create something new. Combine a Metal Bar and a Crime, for example, and you’ll create a Break-In. An instant after your discovery, you’ll be destroying locks and kicking in doors. 

Solving Doodle Mafia’s logic puzzles propels you forward through a life of crime, as your options expand based on the Elements you’ve made. Take that Break-In that you just created and combine it with a Building, for instance, and you’ll create Jewelry. Combine Jewelry with Jewelry, and you’ll create a Chest. Combine two Chests, and you get a Safe. Now you’re on your way to stealing some serious cash, building your gang, protecting your ill-gotten gains, and becoming the Big Boss. 

And that’s just the gangster side of the aisle. When you’re a cop, it’s your job to thwart the baddies using the same logic puzzles to create an anti-crimewave. 

There are multiple game modes, storylines, and more than 500 puzzles to solve and items to create in Doodle Mafia—and you can do it all for free!
