The best washers in PowerWash Simulator 2
With PowerWash Simulator 2’s campaign expanding beyond the sleepy (not to mention filthy) town of Muckingham, you’ll need to familiarize yourself with all the tools at your disposal if you want to stand any chance at cleaning up Caldera County.
Thankfully, you won’t have to start your powerwashing journey empty-handed. The battle-tested Prime Vista 1500 makes a return, offering up a decent, if somewhat tame, entry-level experience. For those who prefer a slightly more powerful option, you’ll also have access to the Urban X U1 from the get-go, and while it might lack the coverage of the Prime Vista 1500, it more than makes up for it with its increased water pressure.
As you take on more cleaning gigs and rack up some cash, you’ll also be able to purchase more robust power washers to tackle bigger and more complex jobs. When it comes to preferred brands, you’ll have to pick from either Prime Vista (whose power washers provide an overall balanced experience) or Urban X (whose offerings provide more power at the expense of a reduced area of effect).

- Turbo nozzle: Unlike your standard zero-degree nozzle, which focuses your power washer into a confined stream, the turbo nozzle provides a spinning, narrower beam of water, allowing you to cover more surface area without sacrificing stopping power.
- Adaptable nozzle: This add-on is a must-have for those who find themselves regularly switching between the standard zero, 15, 25, and 45-degree nozzle attachments. Rather than having to pick between one of four fixed-angle attachments, the adaptable nozzle lets you increase or decrease the spray angle in more precise increments, making it a highly versatile option for any sticky situation you might run into.
- Short extension: This lightweight upgrade provides a slight boost to a nozzle’s range and power, at a slight cost to the area of effect.
- Long extension: This handy attachment can add much-needed range and power to any of your power washer’s nozzle attachments, but it comes at the expense of a lower area of effect. For any given power washer, long extensions will cost double the price of the short extension attachment.
- Extra long extension: This aptly-named upgrade does exactly what you think it does: It adds even more pressure to your power washer and lets you clean from an even further distance, but it has a very noticeable cost to the area of effect. Prices vary by power washer, but the extra long extension will cost double the price of the long extension attachment (and four times as much as the short extension upgrade!).
- Soap nozzles: The perfect attachment to tackle the most challenging of cleanups, this nozzle loosens all dirt that you cover with soap, making it easy to wash away with any other nozzle.
- Triple-tip nozzle: the crème de la crème of cleaning attachments, this nozzle actually consists of three separate zero-degree nozzles, and can blast away just about any mess you might come across. Its only downside is that it can only be equipped on the costly late-game Prime Vista Pro.
- Double turbo nozzle: This particular attachment can only be used on the end-game Urban X Stream power washer, but it’s well worth the price of admission. Its dual rotating zero-degree nozzles can make quick work of dirt at a long range.
The SwirlForce Surf is PowerWash Simulator 2's secret weapon
Ever since the release of the first PowerWash Simulator, fans have been clamoring for different ways to tackle large messes, and their prayers have been answered in the form of the SwirlForce Surf Ace. Instead of spraying water onto a surface, this oft-requested surface cleaner makes use of a swiveling, circular cleaning head equipped with spinning brushes. While it’s essentially useless at tackling messes from a distance, it’s incredibly effective at tackling large, flat surfaces in record time, and works equally well on floors or walls.
While the SwirlForce Surf Ace isn’t available at the onset, it can be purchased after you knock out your first few cleaning gigs thanks to its relatively low asking price of $500. It also comes with its own unique set of unlockable upgrades and attachments:
- 17-inch cleaning head: This optional add-on covers more area than the standard head.
- 20-inch cleaning head: This is the largest cleaning head available for the SwirlForce Surf Ace.
- Short extension: This attachment increases the surface cleaner’s range.
- Long extension: You guessed it! This maxes out the SwirlForce Surf Ace’s cleaning range.
The best equipment in PowerWash Simulator 2
While you’ll be able to take your power washers, attachments, and nozzles to any job site, there are a handful of tools that will only be made available when the mission at hand calls for it. For smaller cleanups, you can move ladders and stepladders around to reach second floors, roofs, and other hard-to-reach areas, though they are limited in their reach.
Thankfully, there are a couple of other gadgets you can rely on when you begin tackling multi-story projects. Pre-built scaffolds offer multiple floors of access with winding stairs, as well as ladders that you can use to zip directly to the top—and don’t worry, you won’t have to worry about fall damage should you take a wrong turn or miss a step.
For a little more versatility, scissor lifts let you raise and lower yourself with more fine control, perfect for placing yourself at specific heights to clean the trims, undersides, and canopies of larger buildings. And for those who like to live life on the edge, you can also try your hand at abseiling (i.e., rappelling). After affixing a movable seat to the top of a structure, you can hop in and lower and raise yourself to clean structures that don’t have a nearby ground surface.
PowerWash Simulator 2's cosmetics
In addition to spending your hard-earned cash to expand your arsenal of cleaning tools, you can also invest in new cleaning outfits, skins for your washers, furniture for your Home Base, or even new colors for the company van. Those of you who plan on taking advantage of PowerWash Simulator 2’s co-op mode will likely get more mileage out of the player-focused cosmetics, but there’s good fun to be had in decorating your headquarters. In typical fashion, any equipment you buy has to be cleaned off by hand before you can set it up.
Best of all, all cosmetic items are acquired by spending PowerWash Points, which are separate from the money you’ll use to purchase additional tools and cleaning attachments. As a result, you can go wild and experiment, decking out your character and HQ without running out of funds to upgrade your gear.
Look out for gnomes PowerWash Simulator 2
Those intimately familiar with the original PowerWash Simulator will likely remember that game’s penchant for garden gnomes, which could often be found littered throughout job sites, sometimes hidden from plain view. These delightfully charming statues make a return in PowerWash Simulator 2, and there’s even one that’s stashed somewhere around your Home Base, waiting for you to find it.
There’s a good chance you’ve stumbled upon this little fella if you’ve fully explored your base of operations, but here’s a quick guide just in case. Once you’re back at HQ, head upstairs to the second floor to the room that houses the Job Map and your trio of adorable cats. Once inside, you’ll notice how the door leading downstairs is, curiously, always open. If you approach it, you’ll be given the option to close the door, and once you do, you’ll find a hidden gnome who’s been lurking just out of sight this entire time. Picking it up will net you the “Gnome from Home” achievement, and you’re free to find a more suitable hangout spot for him.
