Face the Creature in the Well: Hack and slash through this critically-acclaimed dungeon crawler.

Set in a barren desert, our game pits you, the last remaining Bot-C engineer, against a many-armed creature who disabled an ancient machine built to protect the city of Mirage. Restore power to every single part of the machine by completing trials in eight dungeons, each requiring you to perfectly bounce orbs of energy against bumpers and switches. At the end of each dungeon, you'll face off with the Creature in intricate battles, requiring you to deftly use tools you've unlocked along the way.
Many people have described Creature in the Well as "pinball with swords" but there are a lot of influences in this game from Breakout to Rocket League and Hyper Light Drifter. You must learn to control chaos as you catch, charge, aim, and shoot balls around a series of complex chambers. At its core, it’s a game about dealing with fear and isolation, as well as just having fun bouncing tons of balls around a room of bells and whistles.
Some of my favorite games teach new and unique skills that are satisfying to master. The core mechanics of Creature in the Well are all about controlling something external to yourself – like juggling – and similarly it can take a lot of patience as well as trial and error. As you venture deep into the facility, here are a few tips to help you along that journey:
Don't panic. Find your focus within the chaos. Take your time charging the ball, plan, and line up the most effective shots. You can even dash around while charging the ball without losing control, which is sometimes best since some traps are dangerous, if they accidentally get triggered.
Skip a room. If you find a trial too challenging: don't be afraid to come back to it. The game allows you to explore different branches of the machine in an order of your choosing. You'll discover new gear and upgrades that will help you beat challenging rooms easier when you return.
Visit the city of Mirage. When you discover the old cores from fallen robots of your kin, bring them to Danielle in the town of Mirage to upgrade your power, allowing you to both charge up objects and clear rooms faster.
Boss battles require strategy. The Creature is built to distract you, so always keep a keen eye, even in hectic situations, for the solution to each problem. It will test what you've learned so far in the game – which might not be an all-out assault but rather a perfectly lined up shot.
Heal up. If you run out of energy and get thrown out of the well, you can visit the healing pools and say hi to Roger T. Frog before diving back in. It’s also important to explore every pathway of the branching dungeons as you will sometimes find rooms of respite.
