Hello Travelers! The Genshin Impact dev team meets you again with the latest news about Version 3.6 "A Parade of Providence" arriving in the Epic Games Store on April 12. Two new playable characters Baizhu and Kaveh will make a debut, and you will join hand-in-hand with friends and scholars in an awe-inspiring celebration, the Akademiya Extravaganza.

Meanwhile, the vast Sumeru desert expands even further with a new area with mysterious crystals, an ancient dragon, and lost secrets of Khaenri'ah.

An Extraordinary Celebration at the Sumeru Akademiya

Hosted by the most prestigious institution in all of Teyvat, the Akademiya Extravaganza offers players a great opportunity to find out more about the Six Darshans, each affiliated with one of the six institutes of the Sumeru Akademiya and representing one of the six different types of wisdom. The Extravaganza consists of two parts, the Wisdom Gala and the Interdarshan Championship.

Visitors can stop by booths of different Darshans in the Wisdom Gala and learn more about their research focuses and achievements through fun and creative mini-games. For example, the Rtawahist Darshan which Layla belongs to specializes in Illuminationism and astrology, so they've prepared an astrolabe-related mini-game, where the stars will light up and form certain constellations if the astrolabe is adjusted to the appropriate height and angle. Meanwhile, at the booth set up by the Kshahrewar Darshan which specializes in Technology and the study of architecture and mechanisms, visitors can learn how to build a road that meets specific requirements in a limited space using the least amount of materials.

Other than fun games and celebrations, the Interdarshan Championship will set up the stage where representatives of the Six Darshans will compete for the top spot. We can also expect some friends to show up at the Championship as the story proceeds. Layla's Hangout Quest will also be revealed during Version 3.6.

The Lost Land and the Ancient Power

Brave through the sandstorms of the Desert of Hadramaveth, and you will see a new area hidden in the depths of the desert, where uninhabitable wastelands meet a glorious oasis of flowers. According to the legends, this place was one of the main battlefields during the Khaenri'ah cataclysm five hundred years ago. Over the years, this land has fallen into decay and is now home to treacherous Gray Crystals and poisonous mists that creep into the caves and swamps.

However, hope still remains in the form of the "Pari," spirits of the oasis who have not yet abandoned this land. Sorush, the bravest of the Pari, will lend Travelers her unique flying abilities to traverse the area and reach otherwise unreachable places.

As you approach the new land, one of the caverns may lead you into the massive, lurid habitat of Apep, the Dragon of Verdure. Apep was once an emerald dragon who ruled over ancient Sumeru. However, his appearance was later altered by an unknown disease. Travelers can learn more about the connection between the dragon and the history and gods of Sumeru by playing through Nahida's new Story Quest "Sapientia Oromasdis Chapter: Act II."

More enemy types also arrive with the new area. While the Dendro Dragon occurs as a powerful weekly boss in the new Trounce Domain, the "Iniquitous Baptist" from the Abyss Order rises as the new Boss Enemy. In addition, the Hilichurl family also expands with two new members, the Anemo Hilichurl Rogue and the Hydro Hilichurl Rogue.

The Benevolent Doctor and the Talented Architect

In Version 3.6, two new playable characters, Baizhu and Kaveh, are renowned figures in their respective fields. Baizhu, the owner of Bubu Pharmacy, will now be playable as a five-star Catalyst wielder, and is capable of manipulating Dendro to heal his team. His Story Quest "Lagenaria Chapter" will shed light on the arcane anecdotes about this benevolent and trustworthy doctor. A master of healing, Baizhu is able to maximize his healing powers with the help of wandering spirits and his Seamless Shield. A good doctor also has to be a field expert, which is why Baizhu can heal active characters when interacting with certain harvestable items.


Known as the Light of Kshahrewar, Kaveh, the four-star Dendro Claymore wielder, is a talented and renowned architect in Sumeru. One of Kaveh's architectural toolboxes, Mehrak, provides him with a solid foundation of combat wisdom. In battle, the mighty little Mehrak will trigger all Dendro Cores and cause them to burst by scanning the battlefield. Once the toolbox unleashes its full potential, Kaveh's Dendro Damage and combat efficiency will be enhanced.

In the first half of Version 3.6 Event Wishes, Nahida and Nilou will return with their reruns. Baizhu and Kaveh's debuts will come with Ganyu's rerun in the latter half.
