Hello Travelers! The Genshin Impact team is here again to bring the latest news about Version 2.3 "Shadows Amidst Snowstorms", coming on November 24 to the Epic Games Store. The latest update brings harsh challenges in snow, a mysterious case to solve, opportunities to recruit Albedo, Eula, and new companions Arataki Itto and Gorou!

Training in Biting Cold

The main seasonal event “Shadows Amidst Snowstorms” will challenge Travelers in Dragonspine with a giant mountain area subject to permanent snow cover and extreme weather. Joined by Albedo, Eula, and other old acquaintances, those able to endure the Sheer Cold and accomplish a series of agility, tracking, and combat training can earn bountiful rewards, including the new four-star Sword “Cinnabar Spindle”. 

No proper snow day is complete without a snowman! During the Dragonspine Special Training, you may also obtain various Snowman Components to make your "Puffy Snowmen" in-game. You can exchange Snowman Components with friends, and even bring them into the Serenitea Pot to add a seasonal touch to your realm.

Creatures Big and Small

At the far eastern end of Teyvat, across the sea, mass disappearances of little animals have caused concern among the locals in Inazuma. In the "Bantan Sango Case Files: The Warrior Dog" event, Travelers will investigate into recent mass disappearances of small animals and a mysterious Warrior Dog, rescue the lost ones, and eventually obtain a special Gadget that can replicate forms of some creatures in the Serenitea Pot.

While Travelers are busy rescuing cute little animals, a new Boss enemy arises in Tsurumi: the Golden Wolflord. The Golden Wolflord is even more dangerous than its subordinate Rifthounds and Rifthound Whelps and has the same ability to apply the "Corrosion" status which constantly lowers the HP of all party members regardless of shield. Meanwhile, this monstrous beast can summon Rifthound Alphas to shield itself. In the later stage of the fight, the Golden Wolflord can further increase its Attack at the cost of lowering its Resistance to Geo Attacks.

Friends Old and New

Humans are not the only intelligent life in the world of Teyvat, and our characters also come from different origins and backgrounds. We've already met Xiao and many other adepti in Liyue. This time, the new five-star playable character we'd like to introduce is an Oni from Inazuma - Arataki Itto.

The new five-star character, Arataki Itto, is an intrepid man with Oni blood running through his veins. Wielding a giant claymore and the power of Geo, he can slash empowered Charged Attacks with his unique Superlative Superstrength and transform himself into the Raging Oni King, buffing his attack capabilities while lowering his Elemental and Physical Resistance.

The new four-star character Gorou also holds the vision of Geo, but prefers to use a bow. As the great general of Watatsumi Island’s force, he can provide more buffs to the active character with more Geo characters in the party. 

In addition to the new characters, you also have a chance to recruit Albedo and Eula during the early phase of Version 2.3. Two Character Event Wishes will be available at the same time as Albedo and Eula are both up for a rerun, sharing the same cumulative pull count toward the five-star drop guarantee. The Event Wish for Arataki Itto and Gorou will come after. More background stories of characters will be revealed through Arataki Itto’s Story Quest or Hangout Events of Gorou and Beidou.
