Hot tips to help you ditch the cops in Deliver At All Costs

Far Out Games Studio will have you driving through fences, light posts, buildings, and even pedestrians as you soar across town delivering Lord-knows-what to people. This sort of behavior will certainly bring on the attention of the people you don't want to cross: the boys in blue.
The police in Deliver At All Costs are aggressive. Once you break the law—and trust me, you will—they will chase at high speeds and try to ram your car off the road for as long as they can keep you in their line of sight. They'll chase you for a little while after that too.
These tips will help you excel in completing your deliveries, exploring this strange world, and escaping the police who want to stop you from making the most of your time behind the wheel.
Your hideout will help you escape
You know what they say: There’s no place like home. Your apartment in St. Monique is a safe haven within the madness of the different sections of the game's map. While it can be tricky to navigate while under duress, you can lose a tail by entering your apartment while the heat is high.

Be careful, though. Your apartment building has a staircase that can be tricky to navigate under pressure due to the game's camera angle. The police exit their cruiser just as fast as you leave yours, so you'll have seconds to ditch your ride, climb the stairs, and escape to the safety of your crib.
The police will have calmed down once you leave your place, even if it's only moments after you've gone in. It makes your crummy little studio a fortress of solitude of sorts. Make use of it whenever you are nearby and in a bind.
High falls can shake a pursuit
Deliver At All Costs has a ton of verticality in its level design. There are multistory buildings, rooftops, lookouts, and balconies you can explore as you make your way throughout town on each and every delivery. Some of these hide secret collectables, money, and special characters that give out quests.
They are also a nifty tool for getting away from the coppers on foot once you've had to ditch your ride. While there isn't much fall damage in this game, you will falter for a few moments after you fall a long distance. The good news is that everyone else who follows you down will do the same.
Sometimes it helps to have a plan to escape the cops before they even start chasing you. Setting up a go-to spot, like one of the white overlooks near the starting point of the story, is a great way to pre-plan a dramatic jump before the cops are even on your tail.
Put your foot down
Sometimes the only way to ditch your blue-and-red flashing tail is with speed. The map in Deliver At All Costs is huge and complicated, with plenty of twists and turns and obstacles that can't be destroyed by simply driving through them, but that doesn't mean that you can't put a little pedal to the metal in order to outrun other vehicles.

There is no star level or police meter to indicate how much heat you've taken on, so you need to play it by ear in order to come out clean. Multiple cop cars will show up as the chase continues, but if you manage to stay out of sight after putting some space between you and the chase, you'll be out of the danger zone in no time at all.
Play dirty and dive into a dumpster
You never know what you'll find when swimming through the trash. This time, it'll be personal safety that you stumble upon. “Trash Mahal” is one of the Deliver At All Costs-sponsored escape plans for ditching the police. You'll find these receptacles scattered across the map, ready for you to use in a pinch.
The plan for these is simple: Hop in and hold tight for a few moments while the uniforms sniff around the area. Lucky for you, the smell of trash is so overwhelming that no one will be able to smell the stench of sweat coming from you from all the high-speed chases you've been part of driving around St. Monique.
There are a lot of things that won't help you ditch the coppers in Deliver At All Costs that you might expect to, so learn those lessons early. Phone booths that help you call for another company car are not a good option for fleeing, as the police will still stop you around them. Switching cars, especially when you steal another one off the street, will do nothing to deter the cops who are right on your tail.
While the main goal of Deliver At All Costs is—you guessed it—making special deliveries, there is so much more to do while exploring the wonderful little world that Far Out Studios has created. There are secrets to uncover, carnage to cause, and plenty of buildings to drive through. Sometimes causing a storm of trouble is more fun than getting your job done.
