We’re incredibly excited for PC players to experience Aloy’s legendary quest to unravel the mysteries of a future Earth ruled by machines. To help you become a better hunter of robotic wildlife, we’ve collected a few tips that’ll have you bagging your first Thunderjaw in no time.

Find your focus. The Focus is Aloy’s most important tool during the hunt. It allows her to identify machines, track their patrol paths, inspect their components, and detect any vulnerabilities to elemental damage. Keep in mind that Aloy’s movements are somewhat restricted while the Focus is activated – so only use it when she’s at a safe distance or hiding from the machines.

Hunt smarter. Aloy will frequently go up against machines several times her size, so it’s important to think about a plan of attack before striking. Set up traps in the areas that you anticipate your targets will pass through when patrolling or giving chase. If you’re dealing with multiple machines, sow confusion by overriding a few to fight on your behalf, then move in to pick off the survivors.

Keep moving. Machine hunting requires speed and agility, and Aloy has both in spades. There’s no stamina bar to limit you from sprinting or dodging as much as you like; Aloy’s dodge roll in particular is a vital move for evading machine attacks. And if you feel like you’ve bitten off more than you can chew during a hunt, remember you can always run away to formulate a new strategy. Happy hunting!
