Jurassic World Evolution 2 is out now on the Epic Games Store. The sequel to Frontier Development’s dinosaur park management sim greatly expands the number of modes and dinosaurs from the previous game. In the campaign, you’ll capture and contain the dinosaurs that escaped at the end of the Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom movie. Players will also take on challenges based on the previous movies, in the new Chaos Theory mode.
Chaos Theory will let you experience what-if scenarios from the series. For example, what-if InGen succeeded in The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and managed to bring the dinosaurs to the US. Their plan was to build Jurassic Park San Diego, a park that John Hammond started before abandoning for the Jurassic Park we all know and love on Isla Nublar. You’ll take that shell of a park and attempt to turn it into a grand tourist attraction, snapping fences in place while the Tyrannosaurus rexes do their best to escape. 

The main campaign will see you leading the Department of Fish and Wildlife’s efforts to contain the outbreak of dinosaurs at the end of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. With help from Ian Malcolm (voiced by Jeff Goldblum) and Claire Dearing (voiced by Bryce Dallas Howard), you’ll build containment centers all over the US, and track the dinosaurs through forests, deserts, and snow-caked mountains. You have to find them, safely subdue them, and transfer them to a holding area of your own design. Weather fronts will rip fences and agitate the animals, and illnesses and injuries in these places are rife. With up to 75 dinosaurs in the game, you’ll have your hands full.

Away from the campaign, there are still parks to build and manage. Dinosaur parks have a few new enclosures that will expand the dinosaurs you can display for visitors. Large, modular aviaries will house flying reptiles. The lagoons will hold and display aquatic dinosaurs for visitors to gawp at. 
The people who work at the park will need to be looked after as much as the dinosaurs. Each scientific discipline will affect the dinosaur’s creation, growth, and welfare. But if your park’s scientists are struggling from overwork, it has a knock-on effect. Every potential pitfall in Jurassic World Evolution 2 could end up with another animal outbreak. Which is why you’re playing it, really. Dinosaur disasters aren’t great for the people that end up in the belly of a hungry Indominus rex, but they make for a great game.
