Marvel Rivals new game mode – Path to Doomsday: The Avengers
You can start Path to Doomsday: The Avengers by clicking the Play button and selecting the appropriate mode. There are two options to choose from:
- Classic: Six players can pick any of the original Avengers from the MCU: Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Bruce Banner/Hulk. A lone player will be designated as Loki on the opposing team.
- All Heroes: Six players can pick any available hero except for Loki.
- Heroes: Queue up for a match where you can pick any character besides Loki.
- Loki: Queue up for a match where you can play as Loki.
- Flexible: Queue up for a match that has an open slot on either the Heroes team or as Loki.

Playing as the Avengers on the Heroes team
After selecting Classic or All Heroes mode, you'll choose the character that you prefer. Characters still retain all their abilities. As such, you should consider the ideal roles and synergies prior to starting a match.
The Heroes team also gains the ability to summon Monster Hulk, a beefier variant that can exist at the same time as another Hulk player in your squad. If you’re lucky, Monster Hulk can easily trounce and smash Loki if he manages to grab the crafty trickster.

Playing as Loki
Since Marvel Rivals' Path to Doomsday: The Avengers is a 6v1 asymmetrical game mode, you can expect Loki to have boosted stats and abilities. For one thing, he has a whopping 3,500 health by default. He also gains new and improved skills:
- Sovereign’s Strike (Left Mouse Button): Briefly charge the Mind Stone, then fire an energy blast that deals damage and grounds enemies. This replaces Mystical Missile.
- Art of Deception (Right Mouse Button) and Royal Presence (F): The former lets Loki conjure an illusion, turning him invisible and allowing him to relocate based on directional input. The latter lets Loki teleport to a selected illusion. This is somewhat akin to Deception and Devious Exchange, respectively.
- Illusion Bombardment (Shift): Conjure an illusion to continuously bombard surrounding enemies. This replaces Regeneration Domain.
- Bend the Knee (E): Fire an energy wave, causing the target you hit to become mind-controlled. The mind-controlled character will switch sides and fight for Loki. This replaces Doppelganger.
- Puppet Strings (G): Take control of an allied hero and gain access to all of their abilities. The AI will take over control of your original unit. This is akin to the God of Mischief ultimate, though your original character continues to fight your enemies while you’re puppeting someone else.
- Chrono-Chaos Command (Q): Tear open a timeline rift to summon six heroes from alternate realities, allowing them to fight for Loki. This replaces God of Mischief.
That’s everything you need to know about Marvel Rivals' Path to Doomsday: The Avengers. Note that this is a limited-time event that runs from April 30 through May 28. Additional events are set to become available in the coming months, culminating with the release of Avengers: Doomsday in cinemas on December 18.
