Naraka: Bladepoint goes free to play today.

The news hit as the up-to-60-player melee battle royale game hits its second anniversary and crosses the 20 million unique player mark.
The switch from paid to free, which hits on July 13, brings with it a host of new content, features, updates, as well as some goodies for veteran players.

To receive the veteran rewards you just need to have purchased the game before it switched to free to play. If you did, you’ll receive the rewards via an in-game mail. Here’s what you can look forward to as a veteran player:

At the top of the list is a cache of in-game currency gold. The amount you receive will be equal to how much you actually paid for the game. So if you bought Naraka: Bladepoint for $19.99, you will get that much back in gold.

You’ll also receive ten loot boxes, known as new season treasure, an exclusive legendary hero skin, an exclusive legendary weapon skin, and an exclusive avatar.

That’s a pretty amazing haul, but that’s not all that’s coming to the game when the switch happens this evening. Here’s a look at some of the new content and features arriving starting today:

Capture the Spirit Well: A new 12-versus-12 game mode that has players vying to capture locations to earn points.

New Dual Halberds Weapon: The new weapon combines a spear and a dagger. It can stab straight and also strike horizontally with the ability to lock other weapons.

Justice Chamber updates to Guild Mode: New leadership positions and other features added to the current guild system.

New Hero Tessa: A 1,000-year-old fox demon, who can charm her enemies and capture their souls

New season skin theme: Classic of Mountains and Seas and the god of four seasons

3D Lobby: Players can grapple around and explore while queuing

New Outfit: A new outfit based on the Chinese-painting art style of famed work Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains.

Anniversary in-game events and rewards: As players sign in everyday and complete various quests, they will be able to claim rewads once they reach certain point level. The rewards will include large number of treasures, legendary weapon skin, and many other cosmetics.

Naraka: Bladepoint was released in 2021 and focuses on martial arts-influenced melee combat in a world inspired by East Asian mythology and culture. The game, which features solo and trio modes, takes place on the fictional Morus Island, where heroes gather to fight.

Developer 24 Entertainment regularly releases seasonal updates for the game that expands the game’s story and includes things like special awards and season tasks. Season 8: Reckoning went live a few months back.

You can pick up Naraka: Bladepoint now on the Epic Games Store.
