To comply with local regulations (Öppnas i en ny flik), players in Australia will need to verify they are 18 or older to download or purchase games rated R18+ (Öppnas i en ny flik) from the Epic Games Store. This requirement begins September 9. This will not change the way you access games you already own or any games rated below R18+.

We use Epic’s Kids Web Services (Öppnas i en ny flik) (KWS) to verify your age. KWS partners with third-party providers to offer multiple privacy-preserving age verification methods. Here are the methods available in Australia:

- Take a selfie. Yoti (Öppnas i en ny flik) analyzes your selfie to estimate your age. This photo is encrypted, never seen by a human and is deleted by Yoti immediately after estimation. KWS does not receive your selfie.

- Enter your credit card details. Stripe (Öppnas i en ny flik) authorizes 5 cents on your credit card to confirm it is valid. Your card won’t be charged. KWS does not receive your credit card details.

- Take a photo of your ID. Veriff (Öppnas i en ny flik) uses your government-issued ID to verify your age. Your information is encrypted and securely processed by Veriff and your photo is deleted immediately after verification. KWS does not receive your ID.

- Use ConnectID. Beginning later this month, ConnectID (Öppnas i en ny flik) will let you confirm your age through your bank. No banking information will be shared with ConnectID or KWS.
