If you’ve been sinking time into Frontier Developments’ theme park management sim Planet Coaster 2, you might be on the lookout for some imagineering inspiration to jazz up your park. Planet Coaster 2’s in-depth ride-building systems are well worth digging into but can be overwhelming for new players. Thankfully, if you just want to check out what the community has come up with, you can download prebuilt designs on the Frontier Workshop and throw them into your park.

What is Frontier Workshop, and how do you navigate it?

The Frontier Workshop is a marketplace where players can build and share in-game creations for others to download and use. You can find anything from Shops and Decorations to Flat Rides, Pools, Flumes, and Coasters. Before diving into the digital storefront, you’ll need to log in or create a Frontier account. You can do this from the Frontier website or the Frontier Workshop portal located on the right-hand side of each ride menu in the game. 

Once logged in, you can isolate specific details like ride type and aesthetic and use the search bar within the Search & Tags menu in the Browse tab. Like online shopping, you can filter your results by rating, release time, or item subscriber count (which means how many people have downloaded the Blueprint). To download your chosen Blueprint, first select it, then press Subscribe to add it to your in-game Blueprints. From here, head back to your park’s save file, select the correlating ride submenu, and pick your new Blueprint to build it. 

You might have noticed that you can’t see specific ride's statistics or build prices when browsing for Blueprints. Unfortunately, you will have to find these out by testing them in your game. The image used for the Blueprint can give some idea, as you can assume rides with more visual flair will inevitably cost more to build. Still, if you want to try out a few Coasters, it’s best to open up a sandbox map to test them without any risk. Additionally, from here you can remove the set dressing and resave the Blueprint to make it more cost-effective for your campaign save file. This method can also be helpful if you want to repurpose the Coaster with a new aesthetic, liking flipping a Grecian ride into a nautical one.
 

Testing Coasters

If you are new to ride testing in Planet Coaster 2, there are a few aspects to consider. There are specific metrics applied to both dry and wet rides that impact your patrons' experience in the park:

• Excitement: This metric comes from Coasters and rides that offer high-speed thrills, sudden turns, and tracks that fly near one another. Some patrons prefer less exciting ride options, so having a mixture in your park can be valuable.
• Fear: Pushing guests too far with big drops and turns can lead to a negative experience and lower the ride’s Prestige. Frontier recommends hovering around a rating of five to avoid making guests sick. 
• Nausea: The Nausea metric comes directly from prolonged exposure to g-force and frequent inversions. Like Fear, nauseating experiences can be off-putting to your patrons if pushed too far.
• Ride Prestige: Prestige is defined by the quality of your attraction and can be increased with themed set dressing and music.

Take these metrics with a pinch of salt. Sometimes testing the park goers’ limits can be just as fun as running a successful business. Plus, some of your guests will also prefer a ride that is guaranteed to make them a little ill.

Plus when park goers exit, they can find a Gift Shop and Gelato Bros with seating to satisfy their Luxury, Food, Drink, and Rest needs.

Throwing Knives Hellion Ring

Flat Rides are often considered boring. However, the Throwing Knives Hellion Ring pairs a stylish design with great stats, making it a worthy addition to your park. With a runtime of 144.35 seconds, this ride is a solid option that makes money and keeps guests occupied without taking up too much square footage and building costs. 
Accelerator

The Accelerator ride looks like it was ripped straight from a traditional American theme park. Its steampunk aesthetic is accentuated by tastefully placed copper doodads and cogs, making it a delightful addition to a park with a classic theme. If you’re looking for something light on the Fear and Nausea stats, this gyroscopic Multiverse-style Coaster doesn’t feature intense g-force-inducing turns, making it a great ride option for park goers with a lower tolerance for extreme rides. Loki

Another Flat Ride with style, the Loki stands out with its synchronized flame and water shows as well as its Norse visual design. Aptly named after the trickster god, this simple ride attracts guests with its short queue and solid scenery rating. 
Rambukk

Another design from Youtuber Silvarret, the Rambukk is built to resemble a Viking battering ram, and the surroundings match this Norse theme. The queue has plenty of covered areas, ensuring guests are safe from the weather. And despite its attractive twisty tracks, the ride isn’t likely to make your guests too nauseous or afraid.
Dune Coaster

If the wait for Dune: Prophecy has you down, look no further than the Dune Coaster. Aside from its large stature and hefty price tag, the Dune Coaster can earn you two precious game achievements—Not For The Faint-Hearted and In a Word, Whoooosh—for its extreme speed and excitement rating.
