The Red Lantern’s pups find their way to the Epic Games Store today!

You play as the Musher, a young woman who finds herself feeling a bit stuck in her current life, afraid that she’s going to become known for her failures. Instead of taking up the sensible hobby of making sourdough bread, she decides she needs a bigger reset on her life. She grabs her best pal, Chomper, and hatches a plan: she’s going to live out her childhood dream of becoming a dog musher.
With the barest of plans, she hops into her old van and begins the trek up to Alaska where she adopts 4 more dogs for her newfound dogsledding team (there are 8 to choose from). Her old neighbor left her a cabin out in the wilderness. It’s time for a fresh start, she just has to get there… and considering there aren’t really roads out in the middle of nowhere, she’s going to have to travel by sled.
And as we all know, things tend to go to plan right up until they don’t.
Now, with just a few pieces of food, a couple of bullets, and a pack of sled dogs, she will have to survive the encounters with the Alaskan wilderness to get home with her team of pups.
The Red Lantern is a dog-sledding story of survival. Taking cues from the rogue-lite genre, the encounters and landscape change each time you play and you’ll have to choose how to approach each encounter to discover each of your dogs’ own stories and finally get home. But don’t fear, with each attempt, you’ll find ways to become more prepared for what the future brings.
Will you get attacked by a squirrel? Will you anger the owls? Will you help Slayer get over her fears? Which dogs will you pick?
