You’ll face hordes of infected in Resident Evil Requiem and, if you want Leon Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft to survive, you'll have to utilize all of the resources at your disposal. Yes, even the blood of the deranged creatures that you encounter.

Our Resident Evil Requiem crafting guide has all the details you need. We discuss the differences between how Grace and Leon craft their respective items, the materials that you can find while exploring and the recipes you can use them for, and the ominous Blood Collector upgrades.

Please note that this article contains minor spoilers.

Grace’s crafting mechanics

There’s a huge difference between how Grace and Leon craft items in Resident Evil Requiem. Here’s what you need to know about Grace:

  • Initially, Grace has to find Blood Specimens scattered all over the Care Center facility.
  • Blood Specimens have to be analyzed with a laser microscope. This process is akin to a puzzle of sorts. You have to click on nodes, which cause that node and the ones connected to it to turn into either red orbs or grey boxes. The goal is to turn all nodes into red orbs.
  • Blood Specimens allow Grace to learn recipes, but she still needs to collect Infected Blood.
  • Infected Blood then combines with other materials, such as Scrap, to create new items.

Note that both Grace and Leon can combine Green Herbs to make more potent restoratives. They don’t need to learn recipes just to make these healing items.

How to get more Infected Blood

Crafting in Resident Evil Requiem—at least during Grace’s segments—requires gathering Infected Blood. First, you need to acquire the Blood Collector tool from the Care Center’s Blood Lab. Once you have it, you can collect samples from the following sources:

  • Defeated enemies: Certain zombies that you defeat leave behind blood spatters.
  • Environment: In certain locations, you might stumble upon bloodstains on the floor, buckets filled with blood, and even bathtubs that are overflowing with gory liquid.
  • Transfusion Bags: You might also find items known as Transfusion Bags. When used, these refill your Blood Collector up to a certain amount. Note that this cannot exceed the Blood Collector’s current limit.

How to increase the Blood Collector’s limit

By default, the Resident Evil Requiem Blood Collector tool is capped at 100 units of Infected Blood. You can increase this limit by acquiring a couple of upgrades.

Matsuoka Override Manual

  • Found inside the Parlor in the West Wing of the Care Center.
  • Collect at least 6x Antique Coins as Grace and exchange these for the manual. This increases the Blood Collector’s limit by +50 points.
  • This upgrade has to be reacquired each playthrough.

Matsuoka Master Manual

  • Unlocked as Special Content by spending 1,000 Completion Points.
  • It permanently increases the Blood Collector’s limit by +50 points.

Where to find Grace’s crafting tools and recipes in the Care Center

The map above shows where to go in Resident Evil Requiem's Care Center to find crafting tools and key recipes for Grace. You’ll gain access to the Blood Lab in the East Wing as you progress through the campaign. There, you’ll find the Blood Collector and a laser microscope. There’s also another laser microscope in the Office on the second floor.

We’ve numbered the Blood Specimens accordingly, too. Once you obtain one, don’t forget to analyze it using a laser microscope. Doing so unlocks new craftable items for Grace.

Blood Specimen #1: Denatured

  • Location: Found in the Blood Lab.
  • Unlocks: Handgun Ammo and Hemolytic Injectors

Blood Specimen #2: Reversible

  • Location: Found in the storage room next to the Blood Lab. You need to acquire the Level 1 ID Wristband from the second floor of the East Wing.
  • Unlocks: Steroids and Stabilizers

Blood Specimen #3: Converged

  • Location: Found in the Closet next to the Waiting Room. This room can also be opened using the Level 1 ID Wristband.
  • Unlocks: Med Injectors and 12.7x55mm Ammo

Steroids permanently increase Grace’s maximum health, while Stabilizers improve gun handling and firepower. The 12.7x55 Ammo, meanwhile, is used by the powerful Requiem weapon. You'll have to obtain Rare Metals, which come from drawers that can be opened with lockpicks. This type of material is then combined with Infected Blood to create special ammo for the Requiem.

Where to find the remaining crafting recipes for Grace

Grace can find two more crafting recipes in Resident Evil Requiem. You’ll come across these documents a bit later in the campaign. You’ll just need to read them to learn the recipes; you won’t have to do the analysis puzzles anymore.

Crafting Recipe (Basement)

  • Location: Found in the Bunkroom in the Care Center Basement. There’s also a Mr. Raccoon collectible in this area.
  • Unlocks: Molotov Cocktails

Crafting Recipe (ARK)

  • Location: Found in the ARK’s Monitor Control Room when you’re playing as Grace. There’s also a locked safe in this room.
  • Unlocks: Bottle of Acid and various items

Leon’s crafting mechanics

The Resident Evil Requiem crafting mechanics for Leon are very straightforward. He just needs to collect materials like Green Herbs, Scrap, and Gunpowder. He doesn’t even bother with all that lab analysis nonsense.

All craftable items for Leon

These are all the items that you can craft as Leon in Resident Evil Requiem:

  • Mixed Herb (G+G): 2x Green Herbs
  • Mixed Herb (G+G+G): 3x Green Herbs or 1x G+G concoction + 1x Green Herb
  • 10x Handgun Ammo: 1x Scrap + 1x Gunpowder (Small)
  • 3x Shotgun Shells: 1x Scrap + 1x Gunpowder (Large)
  • 5x Rifle Ammo: 2x Scrap + 1x Gunpowder (Large)
  • 40x Machine Gun Ammo: 2x Scrap + 1x Gunpowder (Small)
  • Hand Grenade: 1x Scrap + 2x Gunpowder (Large)
  • Stacked Hand Grenade: 2x Hand Grenade

Note that Leon, unlike Grace, doesn’t have an item box that allows him to store items. Instead, he has to sell weapons via the supply box just to save inventory space. It’s still possible to repurchase the same equipment later, so you don’t need to worry about losing your gear. However, we still suggest crafting ammo whenever possible so that Scrap and Gunpowder items don’t clutter up your inventory.

That does it for our Resident Evil Requiem crafting guide. We hope these tips aid you as you venture deeper into the Care Center and make your way through Raccoon City. If you want some more general pointers before starting your journey, we’ve got a Resident Evil Requiem beginner’s guide that’s sure to come in handy.

Resident Evil Requiem is available on the Epic Games Store. To gain access to more goodies, we suggest picking up the Resident Evil Requiem Deluxe Edition, which grants unique costumes for Leon and Grace, as well as new weapon skins, additional charm accessories, and alternate screen filters.
