Season 8 brought gritty realism to Rocket League, but now Season 9 ventures into the realms of magic! Ancient dragons take over Forbidden Temple Arena, Rocket Pass Rewards harness the power of fire and ice, and automotive royalty reigns supreme with the Emperor Car. Unleash the elements in Season 9, starting December 7!
 

Forbidden Temple (Fire & Ice)

Season 9 starts in Forbidden Temple, but it’s no longer the Arena you once knew. Glacial waterfalls, rivers of molten lava, and legendary beasts bring a mystical vibe to this Fire & Ice Arena Variant. As usual, this new Arena will take over the home screen throughout Season 9, bathing your Garage in a fiery glow.
 

Rocket Pass

Built with the same magic that birthed the Temple’s dragons, the king of cars is coming to Rocket League. Meet Emperor, a fiercely beaked sports car with a Breakout Hitbox! Though the base car is available immediately with Rocket Pass Premium, working through the Tiers will unlock the upgraded Emperor II.

Next, you’ll need to choose your vibe! Equip the Piercer: Crystalized Wheels to chill out, or get fired up with Forerunner: Roasted Wheels instead. If you’d rather pledge fealty to our new draconic overlords, you can show your support with the Ice Drake and Fire Drake Player Banners.

Once you’ve passed Tier 70, you’ll begin earning Pro Tier Rewards, including two more versions of this Season’s Rocket Pass Car. Emperor II: Frozen is an absolute ice queen, while Emperor II: Scorched is always ready to explode. Whichever temperature you choose, there's a matching Goal Explosion to go with it. With a spread effect similar to Season 5's Cosmosis Goal Explosion, the Brimstone and Ice Age Goal Explosions will coat the Arena in a layer of frost or fire!

 

Tournament Rewards

The fire and ice theme continues with this Season’s Tournament Rewards. Send your opponents a burn order with the Seared Trail and Fireball Boost, or light up the night with a blazing Fire Clap Goal Explosion.

You’ll need to hit the Black Market jackpot to claim this last Item. The animated Skulking Scale Decal mixes glittering crystal with the scales of a dragon.
