Rocket League Season 22 begins today (March 11, 2026) and it’s full of quality-of-life upgrades that enhance the core game without altering the vehicular arcade-style soccer experience.

So let’s talk about the upgrades coming to the ranked system, discuss how training is getting more realistic, introduce you to flip reset indicators, and take a tour of the events and items coming in Rocket League Season 22.

Visible matchmaking rating

In Rocket League, a number called MMR—short for matchmaking rating—determines your rank. The goal is to win matches, raise your MMR, and reach higher ranks, though if you lose matches, your MMR score can go down, too.

Since its inception, MMR has been an invisible numerical score. Now, with Rocket League Season 22, you can opt to see your MMR. Revealing your MMR score can help you identify how far you are from ranking up or dropping down.

More realistic training

Practice makes perfect, and Rocket League has long included a diverse series of tutorials to help you master the game’s mechanics and skills, spanning from the game’s fundamentals to more focused lessons for goals, aerial goals, and making saves.

With Season 22, you now have the ability to tweak tutorial settings so that things like setups and bounces change a little while you practice. With these randomized options enabled, practice will be less rote and provide a more realistic challenge while learning the basics.
Rocket League Reset

New flip reset cues

The elusive flip reset allows players to perform a flip mid-air. Essentially, once at least three of your wheels touch the ball, your ability to flip resets and you can flip to create new opportunities for ball handling. It’s an incredibly powerful skill to learn, but it’s always been difficult to tell exactly when your flip has reset.

With Season 22, Rocket League indicates when you have a flip reset available—it looks like an unobtrusive flash under your vehicle. And don’t worry about tipping off your opponents: Only you can see and hear your flip reset cues, and you can also disable them if they’re not your style.

Clear boost pad charge progress

Boost pads are like a jolt of adrenaline for your vehicle, giving you a burst of speed down the field. Rocket League players know that, once they’ve been used or activated, boost pads need to recharge, and they’re unavailable for a little while. However, players have never really been able to tell quite when a boost pad reactivates—until now.

In Rocket League Season 22, boost pads are getting a quality-of-life upgrade that subtly indicates their status. You won’t see the exact time when a boost pad is going to become active again, but you will see what looks like progress bars refilling on the boost pad, indicating the approximate time at which a boost pad respawns.

Bracket Rivalry and Rocket Pass

A combination of eight Rocket League content creator duos will square off in Bracket Rivalry. From March 20 – 26 in the Item Shop, you can grab your favorite duo’s Player Title, and the goals you score while wearing it will earn points for them. Bracket Rivalry will culminate with a live match at the Rocket League Championship Series Paris Major, with events running from May 20 – 24, 2026, at the Paris La Défense Arena.

Rocket Pass Premium will bring three Dominus hitbox Car Bodies—BMW M2 Racing, Zefira, and Maven—as well as accessories like the Checkers Topper, Foosball Goal Explosion, Yard Marker Antenna, and Air Jordan 1 “Chicago” Decal. Cross-game items will be available for Fortnite Crew subscribers on March 19.

You’ll also be able to unlock a new Player Title just for logging in and unlock more items with Tournament Credits, which you earn from participating in tournaments.

With all of the upgrades in Rocket League Season 22, it’s the perfect time to get back into the game. You can download Rocket League from the Epic Games Store today.
