The SAMURAI SHODOWN storm has come to the Epic Games Store!

This “reboot” of the series actually takes place after SAMURAI SHODOWN V but before the original SAMURAI SHODOWN. Many fan-favorite characters from previous titles make their return like HAOHMARU, NAKORURU, and GALFORD—but now they’re joined by three brand-new warriors: DARLI DAGGER, WU-XIANG, and the mysterious YASHAMARU KURAMA.
Fans familiar with the series should feel right at home as many of the staples that make SAMSHO, well, SAMSHO, are here in spades.
Rage Gauge: Fills up when you get hit. At MAX Rage, your attacks do more damage and you now have access to a Weapon Flipping Technique (WFT) that can disarm your opponent. This attack can sway the battle in your favor greatly.
Parry: What’s a weapon-based fighter without the ability to parry attacks? Only slashes (attack normals) can be parried, with the added caveat that a parried heavy slash will result in the opponent losing their weapon! Actions speak louder than words, and parrying your opponent lets everyone know you read them like a book.
Rage Explosion: Want to sacrifice your Rage Gauge for a last second chance at beating your opponent? Well, go for it! SAMURAI SHODOWN is all about risk vs reward, and Rage Exploding is the perfect way to bet it all for glory. Knowing when to pop off is also key to surviving.
Super Special Moves: This is a new mechanic to the series. Each character has one SSM that they can only perform once per match that, if it hits, will absolutely destroy any morale your opponent once had. Again with the theme of risk vs reward, you only have one shot so you better make it count!
There’s special bonus to fans and newcomers to the series alike. The SAMURAI SHODOWN NEOGEO COLLECTION is not only coming to the Epic Games Store, but it will also be free to download between June 11th and June 18th!
Relive the history of SAMURAI SHODOWN by playing through its entire title list just like when they were on the NEOGEO. Take on warriors from across the globe in its various Online Versus Battle Modes available for every title in the collection.
This is the first time SAMURAI SHODOWN I-V has been playable online since their individual releases 20+ years ago, so polish off that rusty sword and get ready to claim your stake as the mightiest samurai of all!

The pre-purchase campaign window starts 9PM (EDT) on May 26th, and ends when the game goes on sale.
