Hello!

My name is Sean, working at Hello Games, and I’d like to share a little news about our game - The Last Campfire.

We are a small independent development studio probably best known today for our open-world sci-fi adventure, No Man’s Sky.

It wasn’t so long ago, however, that Hello Games were working on their first game called Joe Danger. That motorcycle stunt game was our first stepping stone on a path to the more ambitious No Man’s Sky, and we wanted to make sure we were fostering others to have the same learning experience we enjoyed in our early days. And so, for the last few years a couple of members of the team had that opportunity to work on something more hand-crafted, a game called The Last Campfire.

This week we are launching The Last Campfire on Epic Games Store. This is very exciting and incredibly nerve wracking for the tiny  3-person team (an artist, a programmer, a designer).

The Last Campfire is a passion project of Stevie, Chris and James and has been in development in the background for over 2 years. Everything that you see in Campfire is from their imagination.

It’s a game about loss, hope and empathy. You play as Ember, a lost soul in a charming but dark and puzzling world who is searching for meaning and a way home.. On your path you find others like you, some of whom have lost their way and turned forlorn. It’s up to you as a player to choose who to help.

Set in a beautifully realised fantasy world, at its heart it is a story about restoring hope in a hopeless world.

We all really hope you enjoy The Last Campfire on the Epic Games Store today, it’s a game we care a great deal for, and one that’s had a whole lot of love poured into.
