We are super happy to announce that The Riftbreaker will be available this autumn on the Epic Games Store. ‘What kind of game is this?’ you may ask. Well, strap yourselves in and get ready for an adventure of a lifetime. The Riftbreaker is set in the distant future. Years of technological progress have resulted in one of the greatest developments in the history of humankind – rift travel. By creating rifts in the time-space people are now able to travel across vast distances at an instant, which made space exploration possible on an unprecedented scale. You are one of the Riftbreakers – an elite scientist/commando, tasked with making the jump to a potentially habitable planet of Galatea 37. Your mission is to prepare this new world for human colonization.
The Riftbreaker combines elements of base-building strategy, survival and action-RPG. In order to complete your mission and establish a stable, two-way rift back to Earth you will have to build a robust infrastructure. That includes various factories, refineries, power plants and other facilities. Starting with only a handful of basic blueprints, you will gradually improve your base as you discover new resource deposits and gain access to more advanced technologies. Naturally, it will not be as easy as it first sounds.
Galatea 37 is home to various species of flora and fauna, and not all of them will be happy about your interference with the natural order of things. Defend your base against massive hordes of enemy creatures. Set up a network of defensive towers and surround the base with thick walls. Use the shape of the terrain to your advantage. As you explore the planet you will discover new species of indigenous creatures, each with their unique abilities, behaviors, strengths and, most importantly, weaknesses. Gather samples of the newly discovered lifeforms and learn how to survive.
To have any chances of survival you will need to adapt both your strategy and the tools at your disposal. Discover, unlock and refine technology blueprints that will allow you to craft new weapons and Mecha-Suit enhancement modules. Change their characteristics according to your needs with mods that you find along the way. You will need all the tiny edges to brave the dangers of this new world and succeed in your mission on Galatea 37.
