The Wolf Among Us Remastered
It’s been 13 years since the original title was released. That’s a long time in games, particularly when you’re making episodic adventure games. Fans have been waiting for over a decade for more Bigby Wolf (aka, the Big Bad Wolf), as he investigates the crimes of Fabletown, New York—a town filled with exiled characters from folklore.
Telltale made magic across those first five episodes, where Bigby encounters Snow White, Ichabod Crane, and more in Fabletown. Amidst the murders and the grime, and the all-too-human failings of the fairytale turned bad, players can (and will again) make choices that shape the narrative. As the investigation progresses, there’s a real sense that the player is making a difference in what follows.
We won’t be getting too deeply into the plot of the game. The joy of Telltale games is that you should experience (and influence) them yourself, but we did ask Telltale CEO Jamie Ottilie about the process of returning to the series, and what a remaster means in this context.
“The Wolf Among Us Remastered is more than a facelift,” Ottilie said. “We've created higher resolution art for characters and settings, upgraded animations, and remastered the audio and soundtrack — along with performance, resolution, and framerate improvements, plus a host of extras. We see this as both a celebration of one of Telltale's most beloved titles and the definitive edition optimized for current PC specs and modern console platforms.
“The art style doesn't age. The story is as compelling now as it was in 2013. What was equally exciting was realizing how much we could enhance — refining visuals, audio, and other elements for greater impact on modern platforms. Watching those remastered assets come to life was so rewarding.”

Ottilie also noted that they will release all the remastered episodes together, rather than spacing them out across months. You can binge on Bigby.
The Wolf Among Us 2 re-reveal
A lot of time has passed since the first announcement of The Wolf Among Us 2 at 2019’s Game Awards and what was revealed during Summer Games Fest 2026 wasn’t the same game that was previously shown, with the technology and story being redone.
According to Ottilie: “We got into the sequel believing the combination of our Telltale toolset and Unreal 4 would create efficiencies — it didn't. We made the call to do a full technical pipeline reset and move to Unreal 5. Always a difficult decision, but the right one. We went quiet while we sorted that out, paused story development, and rebuilt the team around the new technical approach. We didn't want to say anything until we had something real to show. We feel great about where we are — the team, the path, and how both games are coming together.
“We brought on a new creative team once we were ready to restart the game development itself. While the new Game Director brought his own creative vision, there are definitely some elements that overlap. The Fables IP has such a rich catalog of characters to draw from, and we’re excited to reveal more about the new story as the year goes on.”
The Oz Gang are now rising in power, meaning the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, and even Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz (who has ‘sociopathic tendencies’) are being tracked by Bigby. The beginnings of a conspiracy is emerging, kicking off another season of mysteries. This, too, will be an episodic title with all the episodes released at once.
“Both games are written and developed in episodes — a nod to classic Telltale that also lends itself to more artful storytelling” said Ottilie. “We're releasing all chapters on day one. It also makes more economic and logistical sense to support one launch date versus five.”
You can wishlist both The Wolf Among Us Remastered and The Wolf Among Us 2 on the Epic Games Store today. Go on, don’t be afraid of Bigby Wolf.
