Indie darling Vampire Survivors won Best Game and Game Design at the BAFTA Games Awards on Thursday despite daunting competition from an array of blockbuster titles. While the shoot-em-up took home the top award, God of War Ragnarök took home the most awards, grabbing five BAFTAs — and another voted on by the public.

The 2023 British Academy of Film and Television Arts Games Awards were unveiled during a ceremony hosted by Frankie Ward at the Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall, and streamed on Twitch, with hosts Julia Hardy and Inel Tomlinson.

Other notable winners include Elden Ring and Tunic, which each won two BAFTAs,  Rollerdrome, which won the BAFTA for British Game, and Shuhei Yoshida, head of the Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Independent Developer Initiative, who received the BAFTA Fellowship.
