The brilliantly chaotic color-blind creativity of writer, director, and artist Ota Imon and his team is exemplified in this laugh-out-loud and sob-quietly Brazilian JRPG.

Wolfstride is about a trio of troublemakers stumbling their way through a giant mecha tournament. After being gifted Cowboy, a mess of a mecha, the team is forced to decide whether they want to sell the thing and move on or go all-in on their new life fighting up the ranks of the Ultimate Golden God tournament. Before they get a chance though, their fate is decided for them and they’re forced to pick up odd jobs to pay the bills and battle the best-of-the-best. Sadly, big bots are only a fraction of their troubles, as they’re pursued relentlessly by the regrettable choices of the past.

his story-heavy, fully voice acted game is rolled out in a day-to-day format, unraveling the world and the origins of its inhabitants piece-by-piece as the calendar ticks down. In between all the world-building is mech destroying. A unique 1v1 turn-based system acts as the core combat mechanic in Wolfstride when the crew are called into action. It’s up to players to modify and adapt their loadouts for each fight to adapt to their opponent and take home the W. Between fights, the team is mainly based in the Hangar where they keep Cowboy, plan out the day, and occasionally kick back with a bottle of milk. The surrounding districts have all the amenities that lead characer Shade will need to earn a few bucks and keep the dream of winning The Ultimate Golden God tournament... alive. Wolfstride is out now, so let’s get you acquainted with a few key locations and characters. Then it’s time to dive in!

The Hangar:

The hangar is Duque's domain. Repairing damage between battles is just the beginning. Swap out parts, install upgrades, and add new weapons to improve Cowboy and perfect the custom loadout designed to beat your next opponent.

Rain City:

Take the role of exiled former Yakuza, Dominique Shade, to explore every quirky corner of Rain City. A half dozen establishments introduce a kaleidoscope of characters, each offering support, a job, or a biting insult to your journey.

The Arena:

Enter the arena to fight it out in giant robots one on one. The turn-based battle system rewards preparation and strategy. Move carefully to get in the best position to attack and keep the enemy off-balance. Target attacks to wear down your opponent or go on the defensive when the fighting gets too hot.
