阿米西亚和雨果逃出了支离破碎的家园，一路南下，前往陌生的地区和热闹的城市。他们希望在那里开始新的生活，遏制雨果的诅咒。可是，雨果的能力再次觉醒，死亡与毁灭随着洪水一般的鼠群再次袭来。无奈之下，姐弟两人再次离开自己的居所，开始寻找传闻中的一座岛屿，据说那里隐藏着能够拯救雨果的关键秘密。
