艾蜜西亞與雨果逃出支離破碎的家園，一路南下，來到了陌生的地區和熱鬧的城市，希望能在異鄉展開新生活，遏制雨果的詛咒。然而，雨果的能力再次覺醒，死亡與毀滅隨著洪水般的鼠群再次襲來。無奈之下，姐弟兩人再次離開自己的居所，開始尋找預言中的島嶼，據說那裡藏著能夠拯救雨果的關鍵祕密。
