Avalon the Game is an open world MMORPG that teaches alternate history while following the secrets of Knights Templar.
Avalon is an worlds first multichain online multiplayer role-playing game (MMORPG) built in Unreal 5 engine and on Polygon/WAX/BSC blockchains. Set in a fantasy medieval kingdom, players utilize their NFTs to explore a world of danger and mystery while competing for cryptocurrency and rare NFT rewards. The game is built around both active play-to-earn and passive own-to-earn economies. Inspired by the legend of King Arthur and alternate history of Knights templar, this game challenges every player to undertake a thrilling adventure in their quest to ultimately claim their very own seat among the Knights of the Round Table. Along the way, players earn rewards (i.e. NFTs, in game tokens) by purchasing, renting, or securing resources as well as collaborating with landowners to acquire and build in-game real estate.
State of the game development
"Avalon: The Game" is currently in development and will be released in stages. The first closed alpha was launched in January 2023, followed by the open beta scheduled in October 2023. These testing phases have been collaboratively developed with the active participation of over 500 veteran MMO players.
The game is currently transitioning between Unreal Engine 4 (UE4) and Unreal Engine 5 (UE5). Periodically, we will open the game to the public during its development stages. We look forward to sharing the progress of this exciting project with the gaming community.
Gameplay
The gameplay options available in the current stage of development for Avalon:
PVE across the genesis map
PVP arena
Three types of multiplayer raids, currently limited to teams of six players
PVP on dragon mounts in the sky
First-person and third-person gameplay
Travel using either multiple ground mounts or the portal system
Harvesting, hunting, fishing, cooking, baking, and repair systems
Expansive world economy with mills, taverns, stables, and forges.
The world of Avalon will consists of twelve kingdoms, each with its own independent network of online servers.
Yes, there will be a mythical Round Table as well as twelve knights and a king--if we opt to have a monarch in the future.
In the first edition of the game, each kingdom will consist of a main castle, including a town inside the castle walls, twenty villages, ten towns, seven Harbors, surrounding seas and a virtually endless number of dungeons.
Players will be able to freely move between kingdoms upon reaching level twenty or simply by owning homes, service providing buildings or portals in one of the kingdoms.
Players will be able to board ships and travel the seas in search of the legendary Avalon Island or engage in epic naval battles. Ships can carry up to twelve players.
The multiplayer raids will be limited to six characters and will consist of following four classes:
Ranged - Elves, Robin of Sherwood
Tanks - The Viking Clans , The Knights of King Arthur , The Brotherhood of Templars
Healers - The Druids , Herne the Hunter
Mages - Merlin, The Grand Inquisitor, The Templar Grand Master
