What is included in Early Access?

Early Access for ER-cade includes the game at it's most recently released development stage. Content is added once it is relatively stable and ready for public testing. Balancing, improvements, and bug fixes continue once each bit of content is released.

What is the current state of the game?

ER-cade is primarily in a "fix all the bugs and make it prettier" phase. There are a few major pieces still being added (for example, music and sound). There is also plenty of balancing to do.

How long will the game be in Early Access?

This is uncertain. While Gnome Lab Games will hopefully have more contributors in the future, ER-cade specifically is a solo-dev project. We want to get further feedback, add more content, and polish significantly before taking ER-cade out of early access.

Current estimate is to be out of Early Access by spring 2027, though that is not a guarantee and the priority remains quality over speed.

How often will you be updating the game?

This depends on Gnome Lab Games' other projects, as well as the developer's schedule outside of game dev. At most several times per month, but there may be multiple months in a row without an update as well.

It also depends on how much interest ER-cade gets from players, so if you enjoy the game and want more content/updates, let us know!

Will my progress be saved during updates?

If you login with your Epic account within ER-cade, then yes. Achievements, stats, leaderboards, and save files all use Epic's EOS. EXCEPTION: Some major updates have required overhauls of the save files, requiring a save file reset. All other aforementioned types of progress have not changed.

Note: If you do NOT login with your Epic account, your progress may be lost.

Will the price change when the game leaves Early Access?

ER-cade's base game is and will always be free. We reserve the right to change the pricing for expansions, though we have no plans to do so.

Can I provide feedback and bug reports?

YES! Oh my goodness, please do. See the "Follow Us" section for ways to get in touch. Sending feedback and bug reports via discord is absolutely best and will get the fastest response.

How can I help with ER-cade's development?

First off, THANK YOU!

You can do the following:

  • Show ER-cade to your friends, family, classmates, whoever!

  • Post on social media (and tag @gnomelabgames!)

  • Buy add-ons!

  • Send in feedback and bug reports via the Gnome Lab Games discord server!

Are there items (such as additional content, offers or currency) for sale that are used in the gameplay of your product?

Yes, there are paid expansions which provide additional content for each organ (the only organ at this time is the heart)

Can your product be used without making any in-app purchases?

Yes! The paid expansions just add a lot more content.

Are in-app purchases refundable?

No

What payment platform is used to facilitate these purchases? Do you use Epic Games’ platform or a 3rd-party (including your own) payment system?

ER-cade uses Epic Games' platform as its payment system.

Does ER-cade support controller input, or only keyboard and mouse?

The PC version of ER-cade is keyboard and mouse only (and can actually be played entirely with a mouse). If there is a lot of interest in controller support, it may be added in the future.
